Clay bar really works!

Will add pics tomorrow, but I spent tonight clay barring my whole car Wasn't a ton of work but the result is amazing and I can't wait to put a first coat of wax on tomorrow

Edit: uploaded pic, it's a cell phone pic but the paint looks super deep and feels completely smooth Although the process exposed a few scratches Oh well, comes with owning a black car...

Agreed. Clay bar (never tried "liquid" clay bar) will work wonders.

The biggest improvement I've seen has been the clay taking off any water sports that collected on the paint. We have super hard water around here and without any wax they're IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I'm super happy

Yes, clay bar completely changed the detailing industry. Very cheap, efficient, and affordable. Just remember if you drop it to throw it away.

Da fuq? fill us in on the alternative to claybar?

I have not had the chance to claybar/polish/wax this car yet, but on all my previous vehicles it works wonders.

Careful, claying can mar the paint so you should polish afterwards if you plan to do it. Even if you use a lot of clay lube.

Agree with that but it should only be done if you're doing a full detail anyhow...you have to be really careful when you're first learning. Try it on a section of the car that isn't the focal point of the car (not the hood, but the bumper instead; not the door but the lower fender or rear quarter). Once you get the hang of it you'll have a lot less scratches.
