Yeah no problems with the tire really. It's not as fun as the other 200tw tires but they seem to wear great and they're about $300 less per set. I really don't mind being the slowest class. It's pretty funny actually.

Slowest Snowflake Class.

So, the goal, then, is to be the fastest slow guy? Do I have that right?

Unfortunately, it would cost too much to ship.

Does anyone know if I could run in this class having only done the wheels and tires? The reason I ask is I was planning on getting just wheels and tires anyway, and I figured if I got the right wheels and tires then I could also run in the class just for kicks. I'm not bothered about getting the suspension stuff given I probably won't have many weekends off this year and won't be seriously competing in autox. Thanks.

I can't imagine anyone would complain, especially locally.

I doubt you'll get complaints from anyone, but you should ask the SSC people at whichever autox group(s) you run with.

I'm going to give you the "what you should do" answer.

While you won't be competitive in ANY class being underprepared, you should run in the class your modifications put you, and not with where you *want to* run.

The wheels make you ineligible for C/D street.
The lack of required mods make you ineligible for SSC.
That said, your wheels and tires are 100% eligible for STX.

The whole idea of a spec class is that everyone runs the same stuff, so there's zero variation other than alignment and driver. Not the mods, that you have or don't have... And also why the verbiage about being able to run non-spec (oem) wheels was removed.

Me? I kind of like the idea that SSC cars are ... SSC cars and SSC cars alone. That's the line in the sand: You either have everything and run in the class, or you don't, and run in your appropriate class that your mods put you.

Not trying to go out of my way to be a jerk here, but the class exists solely for those that did the required mods, and there are other classes where you're eligible.

Otherwise, what's the line? I only have the wheels/tires. I only have wheels, tires, and rear bar. I only have the series.X shocks. Etc.... Can't sit here and justify "you're ok, but this other guy that had the bar isn't".

With that out of the way, as GRide said, it's up to your competitors on a local level.
