The 5 wasn't just for the PP. It had nothing to do with the PP for that matter. Not everybody (i.e. Europe) even got the 5 and Canada got the 5 but no PP.

Either they will keep the upgrades to parts bin stuff and some fancy bits or the price will go so high that nobody will buy it anyway. It will be very interesting to see what it actually comes with though.

It's cause this car technically isn't a tS. It's just a package STi put together for the car. There hasn't been a tS developed in Japan for the 2017+ BRZ yet so you wouldn't see the same type of upgrades as the the 2013 and 2015 models.

WRX STi is a model designation. There's a WRX tS, but the equivalent car for a WRX STi is the s207. Both tS and s207 see development and testing by STi, typically by their resident test driver on the Nurburgring. It won't be equivalent because the us version wouldn't have had any of that. What I meant is that it would just be an accessories package out together by STi. The tS had those things, but also included a lot of incremental changes beneath the surface that people don't notice, including a stiffer rear subframe, stiffer mounts etc. I can guarantee these things would not make it over into the car.

We've only had the WRX STi as a model, but STi as the aftermarket arm has been making more minor upgraded models in Japan for years (the tS line among others). TS models have always been about making improvements to the handling and ride over power (legacy tS, forester tS, exiga tS, etc. have all followed similar development)
