Anyone notice their dead pedal makes a creeking noise when you push your foot down on it? It sounds like the top part of mine has some play in it and makes a creeking noise when I put pressure on it. Tempted to take it off and maybe secure it better.

There is a piece of styrofoam behind the dead pedal that is probably doing the creeking. It sits between the carpet and bare metal floor. You could put a small amount of silicone behind the styrofoam to help secure it to the floor and help with the creeking. The pedal is only held in place by two plastic Christmas tree push pins.

If you pull those out you can pull the carpet back and get to the styrofoam piece.

Perfect. Thanks for the information! I think I will put it back tomorrow. Does it need to be any specific kind of silicone to bind to Styrofoam? Haven't used silicone on this stuff before.

Silicone pretty much sticks to everything. Doesn't really what kind you get for this application. It's a sealer more than adhesive but since it dries to a semi solid and is pretty sticky it works well for misc things like that. Not a structural adhesive and can be easily removed and cleaned (well fairly easy).

Thank god. I know its something tiny but my god I hate hearing the squeaky noises when I put any weight on the dead pedal lol.

I am looking at picking up a cheap low profile jack and four jack stands. Anyone had good luck with this car and jack standing it? I want to be able to get it completely in the air for the tranny fluid change and my wheel black out.
