Ford was the only motor company to turn a profit during the bailout years... and didn't take a dime of public bailout money... just some food for thought. The '66 nova SS that I daily'd to high school was sure fun but good lord, recently Government Motors is just turning out yawn after yawn

Only American company not to take a bail out. Which has more to do with the fact that Ford just secured a large sum of long term loans before the credit markets froze. GM only needed a "bail out" because the credit markets were frozen. I wonder if people understand the difference between a "bail out" and a loan for operating expenses during a frozen credit market (which just doesn't happen, you can't plan for it). Ford did not have better products than GM in 2007. Look at the 2007 American Ford line up...full of turds.

Ford is producing some good stuff now for sure. Crap on GM all you want but they are so much better than Chrysler. I guess there are enough idiots to keep buying their mainline cars and trucks.

Talk shit on Ford all day long, in the end he has a 440hp engine sitting in a 28xx pound chassis, and that's what this is about.

I would honestly prefer a Coyote Engine. They seem to be more reliable compared to the lsx guys out at our local tracks.

Nice thing about Ford engines; there are so many 5.0 L engines (really going back to the original 302) out there that they are pretty inexpensive.

I'm willing to bet there are 2x the number of 5.7l GM engines on the road. The 302 was a pretty bad engine, unless you loved oil leaks.

Of course the current DOHC 5.0 and the old OHV Windsor are completely, totally, utterly different engines. The "original" version of the Windsor was 221 c.i. in 1962, soon followed by 260 and 289. 302 came out in 1968.

Yes, of course. I was merely pointing out the popularity of the engine displacement over the years.
