We are still 5 to 10 years from knowing that. There was a problem with some early ones rusting around the window trim but they seem to have fixed that. Also a non structural piece under the hood that rusts but it is not a body component.

The big mothering stone chip on my front fender that I have left untouched for 3 Canadian salt seasons is just starting to show some surface rust now. I am very optimistic that their claims of rust resistance are indeed true.

Get A touch up pen. I have one and it helps a lot.

Also next time you're in Tdot, let me know ( as soon as I get my baby back), I second getting you a drink

Oh I have a touch up pen that I use. I left the chip on purpose to see how quickly it rusted. Wasn't negligence it was experimental.

Happened a coupe of weeks after getting the car. A truck trew a big rock up on the highway. I saw it coming and almost got out of the way but didn't quite manage. Decided to leave it and see how quickly it rusted. After 2 1/2 years and into the 3rd salty winter it has just started to surface rust (pics look worse than reality). It is probably a worst case scenario since it actually cut through the galvanized coating on the steel.
I hope to make a meet on TO sometime this year. Tried a couple of times last summer but didn't pull it off.

.
Well, now, Tcoat ...... that is a piss poor experiment!

What you should have done was to take a cold chisel and make 7 more chips, then touch up half of them.

The touched up, naturally occurring chips are doing fine.

Or better, start picking at the normal chip with a chisel or something sharp to make a bigger patch so you can have a better answer 😂
