Got the estimate back from the body shop. It's a hair under $6k.

Actually, that's not bad for the amount of damage you have, though I guess you still have mechanical repairs.

At least it wasn't the Lotus right?

Had my dad over last night, did an oil change on my motorcycle together. Not exactly a two-man job but it was nice to spend a little time just wrenching with my dad. Didn't get a chance to hang out with him this past Sunday so this was like a make-up father's day lol.

I thought it would be more. I'm amazed that the shop's labor rate is only $73/hr.

Lotus would probably have been salvaged with both front and rear clams smashed.

Damn! That's a low hourly rate. All (most) the shops up here in Eugene are right around $119 per hour. With the last one I visited @ $107 per... Labor adds up fast at rates like that.

This is weird. My house is completely empty, and air beds are not very comfy.

I wonder if the low rate is an AAA thing? I was expecting $120 to $150.

Estimate includes replacing 2 rims. At least my rim with the chip in it was on that side.

Looking for the silver lining.

Body shop rates seem reasonable to me. They have to deal with insurance companies.

Does that include ALL mechanical repairs including wheel alignment? I doubt it.
With the amount of side load impact those wheels took I'm sure they'll find more damage to the running gear. Anything from tweaked suspension to an irreparable diff. (It may work for now but give out sooner rather than later.)
Sorry to dull your silver linings outlook.

They do have a 4 wheel alignment in the estimate. But of course it can go up once they start peeling back the layers.

As Chrome continues to strip configuration options and take power from its users, I look more and more towards switching back to Firefox. I never actually left Firefox on Android, because Android Chrome is crippled beyond belief. It's just that Windows Chrome is rapidly moving in the Android direction. #annoyed
