From what I've heard, the Miata club has short courses but lots of runs. If you're just out for seat time, it can be great.

Keep an eye on the Chicago SCCA page, who the heck knows if an event will magically appear somewhere.

probably a dumb question but i can't find a good answer on the forums search or on google and Illinois' EPA page doesn't really address this in its FAQ.

Do we need to have catted headers to pass emissions in IL? Does anyone have catless headers and passed emissions?

Any info is appreciated. I do know that we don't have a visual inspection and it is all done by OBD.

I Don't have a cat on my headers, but I don't have a CEL either so I should pass.

If the emissions readiness monitors show "Ready/Complete" then you will pass.
You would need to use the defouler method or ecutek/romraider to force the readiness monitors/disable the catalyst efficiency code.

Mmmhmm, ITs an intermittent code, happens very rarely, no defouler or anything, probably forced readiness from ecutek though.

Only way to know for sure is to scan it and check readiness monitors.
If the code is intermittent, you may still have the "Pending" code stored in the ECU which may fail you. I think you may be allowed pending codes but it really depends on what the codes are. For catalyst efficiency below threshold, I would not waste my time getting tested if the code was pending as it would likely result in a fail

Scan for codes/readiness monitors, its the only way you will know for sure if you will pass/fail. I had to request certain things be disabled/forced as far as monitors are concerned with ecutek
