@kanundrum Let some video/auto bloggers borrow his car for a comparison vs stock and a nice video was produced
“The Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ have plenty of power!”, said nobody ever. Now with our hands on both a factory stock Scion FRS and a fully modified turbo Scion FRS, along with a bucket of audio and video equipment, we’re going to find out exactly how good the GT86 platform can be on the street. This isn’t a track comparison. We’re out to see how much better a fully tuned FRS can be by the seat of the pants. A huge thank you to Sapan for letting us drive his turbo Scion FRS. The car has a complete turbo kit with all supporting hardware and was built by PTUNING in Manassas, VA. You can check out all the details of Sapan’s FRS by visiting his Wheelwell page here. Wanted to post some pictures from one of our Chinese customers and their first win of the season. Did not slept one night last whole week to finish the car. Big thanks to PTUNING helped with the remote tuning, car runs great. Team got 2 first place and one 3rd, great job guys.
2015 Northern Touring Car Elite Win for the FRS/BRZ & Ptuning Congratulation to team Owen Guo for taking two 1st place (BRZ & FRS) and one 3rd place (MINI Cooper) finish at the 2015 Northern Touring Car Elite. Both the BRZ and FRS was running the PTUNING turbo system, and one was running the PTUNING turbo-back exhaust. Both cars were remote tuned by our in-house tuner |

Hey guys! For those of you who installed the kit I need your help.. I'm getting the car started but it won't stay running? Vacuum lines are secure and there don't appear to be any vacuum leaks

Log the car with EcuTek and see what is happening. How long does it run? What does it do while it is running?

If you're tuned for the standard 6psi on 93 octane, is it still recommenced to get an aftermarket clutch?
I read through the thread, but I don't think this is clarified. |

Mounting a conventional air/oil cooler in the fender well is an option but not everyone wants to cut out the side brake duct opening, remove factory fog lights, or cut out their fender liners. Removing/modifying the front bumper to allow more airflow to the radiator is an option, but most of our customer use their car on the street and they prefer not to modify or remove their bumper beam. So there's a handful of constraints we had to deal with in designing our oil cooler setup. We felt the best all around solution was a water/oil laminova cooler--no medication to the chassis, bumper, fender liners, bumper cover, etc. This setup allows the oil temp to get up to operating temperature quicker and in the east coast winter, the radiator thermostats help regulate the oil temp as well. But everything seems to come back to trying to get more airflow to the radiator to help with cooling the motor. The s2000 front end and 86 are so different. There's a huge space between the radiator and the intercooler on the s2000, where as on the 86 things are almost sandwich together. That is the reason why we did not carry over our s2000 setrab air/oil cooler setup to the 86 platform. Now if we wanted to build an all-out track setup that could run in extreme track temps with high hp, we would be develop our v-mount setup with intercooler on top, radiator and your choice of size setrab oil cooler on the bottom. The design is already on paper, it's just a matter of us pulling the trigger to make it happen. Right now we're so busy building and shipping out our base frs/brz kit that we haven't had the time to prototype all the components for the "spec-RS" v-mount option since we don't feel there's a real demand for it at the moment. The v-mount setup will provide full airflow to both the radiator, intercooler, and oil cooler, and in addition it would allow us to design a true cold air intake system. However, cost will be a big factor. Due to the placement of our turbo, this gives us an option for developing a racing v-mount setup in the future. The same goes for our s2000 turbo system. Now you know why we try to avoid placing a hot snail in the engine bay--heat is your enemy. If you can manage the heat properly, reliability goes up. MrC |

Yes, at least an exedy stage 1. I highly recommend you install the clutch before installing the turbo. MrC |
