Ditto.

I've been toying with this idea as well. Not as many but I went on a auxiliary light buying binge and have a few Cibie and PIAA 6" light sets...

Does look rice because you can see it. If it were black but when turned on bright lights then itd be cool. Incognito.

I agree with the previous posts. Ricey if it's visible, though you are doing it for functional reasons. Cdamzero's setup looks pretty good.

I'm the OP, and I live here in Los Angeles.

I don't shine it in folks' eyes though, despite the temptation sometimes.

Cdmazero,

Do the LEDs in the grille function as a driving light? Or is it more of an accent light?

Do you have any pics of it lighting up the road ahead of the car?

Not of the road ahead. They are bright enough to drive without lights at all though. There are 66 high intensity LED's and 66 270k ohm resistors hand soldiered and 66 individual holes I drilled in the front plastic grille with LED holders in each hole. The LED sets of 3 go to a main wire buss which is connected to a relay with a simple on/off switch inside. I put release connectors on the main buss wires in case I need to remove the bumper. I will try to post some pictures of what you requested soon.

I can tell you that the one I have is INCREDIBLY bright. even with the headlights off it is far brighter than the factory high beams. with everything lit up it feels like you can see forever. the lights on the end of the bar are floodlights as well, that do a pretty good lighting up the shoulder of the road.

We don't really get deer here in So Cal, but it would be ideal for anyone who lives in the midwest where they are more of a problem.

The deer here in Ky, let's just say 95% of any car that hits one is totaled. Also made a custom 5th brake light, but not for the deer.
