No I haven't, but I was actually defending them. I see clear value in the extra 10k you pay for a Cayenne over an X5 or GLK or whatever they call them nowadays.

And yet for $40k you cannot find another vehicle sold anywhere that matches the combination of light weight, handling, power, driver seating position, driver feedback and build quality.

Played this game after 50K miles and 3.5 years in my FR-S. Test drove and shopped 987.1 Cayman S cars, clearly took a wrong turn somewhere...

If my budget was twice as big I would likely dip into Exige or Boxster Spyder territory.

If I suddenly fell into a windfall of money, I probably wouldn't buy a car, lol. (I'm getting older.) I'd pick up an MV Agusta of some kind.

But if I wanted to blow it out on a car, it'd be GT350R. That Voodoo engine is one of the best sounding engines I've ever heard.

Past that, a Cayman S.

GT350R. Was following one last year and just listened to that engine. He must have thought I was weird.

If you are referring to the Z4, anything after the 06-08' M cars is pretty tame. Heavier car, less special engine, convertible only...

Decided against the Cayman answer since the car was too methodical and smooth, it just didn't provide the character and excitement I had hoped for. Plus with the $$ saved from DIY and avoiding the Porsche tax, plenty of track funds.

Nope. He was overjoyed that yet another person was listening to him.

Actually I gave him a thumbs up and he didn't react. I don't understand people who buy fun cars and then act like they're in a prius and don't react to people giving them thumbs up and shit.

LOL. So far the people that have ignored my thumbs up the most have all been other Twin owners. I am at 100% return on gesture from WRX, STi, 307Z, Genesis, and the lone S2000 owners I have acknowledged. About 30% acknowledgement from FRS/BRZ/86 owners.

Exactly my experience. 95% of bike riders exchange the standard greeting with me when riding. Most 560SL (and older variants) drivers beep and wave when we pass each other (when I'm driving my wife's 560SL, of course). When we had our '93 Range Rover County LWB and passed another one, mutual greetings were had the vast majority of the time.

Coming across another twin is obviously rarer than seeing another bike rider, still much rarer than seeing another SL driver, and about the same as seeing an old Rover around here. I have YET to have another twin driver acknowledge a greeting.

Sooooo... HI, EVERYONE!!!!

I'd keep the Brz and use the money on life experiences.

Three times the budget wouldn't give three times the satisfaction.
