not the dealer.... There is a used one in the for sale section. Or just get an aftermarket stage 1 clutch (I'd go with Clutchmasters).

OEM clutch is Exedy, but not stage 1. Stage 1 is a still an organic clutch, but it's a step up from OEM. Compared to the Stage 2 clutch, which has a three puck cerametallic disc.
OEM clutch ($222): http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/exed...h-kit-988.html Stg 1 clutch ($395): http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/exed...h-kit-790.html Stg 2 clutch ($550): http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/exed...utch-1995.html I found the OEM flywheel on SubaruOnlineParts.com for $210. link |

The only way I could see a $3k quote is if by 'clutch assembly' they mean more than just the friction plate, pressure plate, and throwout bearing as that job is at most $1,500 (and could be as low as <$500 for a specialty shop).
What is the problem that needs fixing? You could go do the clutch job but with zero success if you're trying to fix say a noise in the pedal/hydraulics that could be fixed with a squirt of lube. |

Please don't freak out!
How much experience with MT? A novice can ruin a clutch in a heartbeat without even knowing it.
