I did phase 1 last year, loved it.
As far as shocks, I'm tempted to sell my singles and get doubles for this year, but there's no real reason to bother. That's not what's holding me back (that'd be lack of talent lol). |

I really want to do Evo school, but doesn't come back to Norcal til October.
They will run the Advantage School on the test-n-tune day at crows for regionals though. Anyone have experiance with that one? Wonder if its worth it or just wait for phase one. I wont be running the event either so it would only be for the instruction |

Suspension: Adjustable coilovers, top hats for more camber, camber bolts, rear lower control arms to dial out too much rear camber Wheels: 17x9....TR Motorsports stuff is pretty cheap nowadays Tires: 245 or 255 Rival-S or RE71R Power: Tune (power and extra rpm in 2nd) and Headers, assuming you already have exhaust Top it off with a good alignment, I think that would be about the minimum to be "competitive" |

Yeah, I'm playing with setup more just because I enjoy it, whether I can realize the results fully or not. It's likely I'll always be too cautious to be competitive at the top levels, but I might get close... And can certainly get closer.

I think that's my achilles heel for autox -- I don't do that much playing with setup and testing, just more or less go and drive.

I think I'd rather sell the car than drop $20,000 on STX. Thanks guys.

Since when did STX prep cost $20,000? I did a full-tilt build on my 128i and never came close to that number Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lolwut $20k.
Annie just got MCS 2 ways, buy her old KWs, then just a header and tune (Drift office is close enough to you), and then just some 17x9s, 245s, and like $100 in whiteline bushings. LCA and a couple other things and you're on your way. |

I can hit 20k if I go max build and put half that toward coilovers...
8k and competitive should be easy, buying new. That's only a little more than people spend on CS. |

Just read this thread. brakes and diff are not required to win in STX, just because someone has one doesn't mean you need it too.

^ If I had a buncha time and money, I bet a fully prepped CS car could just add camber plates, rear LCA's, header, tune, and a good alignment and be a threat. Especially on a bigger faster course. That'll run you less than $2.5k and you can start running your "CS+" car this spring, upgrade as you go from there if necessary. Easy to revert back and part out if the mountain turns out to be too steep to climb.
