A more accurate test would be 2nd gear 300p rpm to redline... Do you think you can do one of those? I

I will be making one today. The fiancé and I are just going out for a little drive so I should have some normal driving for you guys soon.

I probably post it all up at the same time though because the normal driving will be boring lol.

A turbo delivers more power at less system weight and a direct drive electric motor is more efficient.

I don't know that the system weight is actually less for a turbo. Electrocharger is using a couple of extra batteries but is not using an intercooler.
Big companies are developing similar systems. None of them have completed development of one that they feel is ready to be released on production vehicles yet. The little guys are almost always more innovative than the big guys. They have to be to get ahead.

It's because companies have to warranty things they produce. Also, there are driveability standards, nvh, a bunch of stuff guys like us don't care about. It's 1000x easier to bolt something on a car than it is to produce one with the same thing.

Yes some bigger companies have also been looking into it:

http://wardsauto.com/news-amp-analys...c-supercharger

And I'm not saying that there is no merit in an electric supercharger.
I was just answering why one doesn't see electric superchargers in cars which are commercially available.
A downsized engine with a turbo will have less system weight than a slightly larger engine with an electric supercharger and batteries and the downsized turbocharged version is most probably also cheaper.

Keep in mind.... Calgary is 3500 feet roughly above sea level but pressure makes it more like 4500 most days. Cars here are incredibly slow compared to sea level with an approximate loss of 15% in effective power.

The only relevant comparison in terms of acceleration would be a car here versus a car here. It sucks. But it is what it is.

I'm at 290ft elevation if anybody wants to send me a kit I'll let everyone know how it works. I'm just a nice guy like that.

I agree with this, it's better not to get discouraged based on elevation effects.
Are you guys planning on doing some dyno runs somewhere closer to the ground?

Heaviest part of any turbo system are the manifold and turbine section and housing. And intercooler if you wanna compare.

This kit weighs nothing. I bet the total weight gain is maybe 30 pounds.
