Spacers with RCE Yellows on Stock Rims/Tires? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Alright so I did a search on the site and Google and didn't find anything. But has anyone gotten RCE Yellow springs (or any springs) and also gotten a spacer for the stock rims and tires? I've heard some stories about safety issues with spacers, but then again everyone has stories about every product. Would you guys recommend a certain brand or would you not do it? I know the the springs will make the wheels look even more sunken in, so I was considering some spacers. Any help and advice is appreciated! I know that if I would get them, I would get hubcentric, of course.

Bump. Someone has to have done springs and spacers on the stock wheels.

If you run a bolt on spacer dont get the cheapest you can find, gey quality. Do some calling around to vendors. I've ran bolt on spacers on a 68 chevy truck and a jeep with 33x12.50 tires without issue. Its a good idea to check spacer torque every couple thousand miles too.

Nothing wrong with spacers...I've talked to guys racing in Honda Challenge who run spacers.

If you're running the stock studs, don't go crazy on the spacer width. 10mm at the most. If you throw like a 25mm on there, the lug nuts will barely have any threads to grip (which is unsafe).

Non-hubcentric spacers are also more prone to vibration, because you have to make sure they're aligned perfectly when you put the wheels on. So just get hubcentric spacers, they're a lot easier to use.

Did you get the RCE Yellows installed with spacers on stock wheels? I'm actually considering the same set up. If so, any pic?

I only got the springs. Well actually the RCE starter kit lite, which has the springs, camber bolts, and rear bushings. I decided not to do spacers because I want to get new wheels and tires sometime in the future, and chose to save that money until then. I'm fine with the stock wheels right now. They are actually growing on me. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have the Eibach 1" springs, 25mm spacers and stock rims/tires. It puts them almost flush with the fender as far as "poke out" and still has room to travel upwards when you hit those speedbumps.

Its an old picture, but the spacers and springs haven't been changed.

Thanks for the pic/info, this is exactly what I envisioned. Which company did you go with on the spacers? Looks like I can still get away with 30mm in the rears...

30mm in the rear would be golden. They are a nice eBay special, (can't remember the brand lol) with hubcentric ring. They are the "adapter" kind, with their own studs on them. I've never had a single problem with them, and get many compliments on the look!
