Surprised this is so cheap. I love those seats and headlights--that alone makes the deal worth it to me. I prefer the FR-S bumper, but I'd just have to re-badge to Toyota right away haha.

But what about the SINGLE LARGEST DIFFERENCE (imo) between the FR-S and BRZ? That's right, I'm talking about sound insulation. I drove a BRZ and I was honestly blown away by how much quieter the car was and how much better the stereo sounded.

So does the FR-S Monogram have standard FR-S insulation? (which is practically nothing) Or does it have BRZ insulation?

Everything about the stereos are identical except the head unit, which is 104 watts less than the FR-S. I suspect if you thought the BRZ was better its because the FR-S was tune badly or maybe they even had installed an aftermarket. Many came set to tC instead of FR-S, and they have different sound profiles to switch between too (natural, hear, feel). Different tires can affect road noise too, basically this is a non-thing. The cars are essentially the same noise-wise. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find there is noise dampening behind some of the side panels as well.

Happy New Year everyone!

When it was announced that Scion would be the marque for the FR-S everyone was up in arms about the monospec aspect of Scion.

When it was announced that Scion would make a few different versions of the FR-S to give buyers a choice everyone was up in arms.

Would have solved everything to offer two trim levels from the beginning. People would get what they paid for. Not have to worry about limited number of models. You could still have release series within that, utilizing speciality colors, and different accessories.

I'm not sure how selling their vehicles for sticker is burning through money. Limited inventory of what is basically a model they already build with different badges means that these will unlikely need cash on the hood to move. And the fact they are asking less than a BRZ or 10 series means that it makes a good value proposition.

I still can't believe the 10 Series is $25 more than Monogram. How does the below balance out.

Added:
Leather Heated Seats
Heated Side Mirrors (Canadian Version 10 Series did have this though)
Navigation
Rear Seat Armrest
Spoiler

Versus:
Silver Ignition Paint
Silver Seat belts
EL Dash Panel
Glowing Badges

I think the culprit that evens it out is the silver seat belts, those things must be cash money.

A warning to potential Canadian Monogram customers. We don't have full colour choice!

The only available colours for the Canadian spec Monogram are Red, White and Black.

Blue, Silver, Orange, Grey are not available.

I still ordered and went with Red, but I really wanted blue...as for transmission allocations my dealer only had 2 autos and 1 manual for order.

The special 10 series badge/plaque costs $1000. I now can take it out and screw it through my butt to make me feel better. Damn Scion.

ROFL

During the speculation phase of the monogram "project" most people participating in the conversation were very excited about the release. Talks about trading in and how good this was for the FR-S brand.

Then came the actual release and pricing... Now the conversation has changed to:

"Not worth it"
"WTF?!"
"All I want is ..."

And my favorite... "how much money did you lose in that trade-in?"

Fascinating!

Whaaaaaaaat? I wanted a BRz in hot lava!

Fail. I guess I have to determine whether I want red or white.

Argh.
