I don't mean to come off as a hater or anything, but the only changes are exhaust, rims, and a body kit? They didn't even do suspension? For such a limited run car that they're putting the TRD name on, I feel like they're missing the opportunity to really show what Toyota is capable of doing with this car. 20 years from now, people should be looking at used 86s and saying "oh you should really go for the TRD model", but this just isn't doing it for me.

I'm not asking for a turbocharger and 300hp or anything, just make it noticeably better than the stock model when you compare them.

You guys are funny. Most people bought the scion version because it was cheaper and more available. This would probably be a few thousand more than the brz are even harder to find. 99% the same car at the end of the day too. If they are going to brand it TRD, why not give it the brakes, suspension bits and seats?

I'm sorry but if you pay that much for that car you are a sucker. And the quad exhaust tips? Seriously?.

I would cry as well only in my case, tears of joy. I could finally have the Toyota, with all the options and a bit extra from TRD, that I've wanted. To heck with the Scion strip down garbage.

See the link in my sig, the Toyota will have all those goodies that were taken out of the Scion.

You've never bought a TRD vehicle before, have you? My TRD Celica has a, supposedly, functional body kit and spoiler, same rims as the regular Celica GT-S (I switched to Volks on my own), interior colour inserts on the doors, seats, steering wheel, shift nob, and floor mats. Plus the TRD badge and TRD exhaust. Oh and a colour keyed manual wallet. That's it. That's how TRD does things. The Sports M Celica, I believe, was the only one to get the actual TRD performance parts, such as suspension, bars/braces, etc.

its still a hyundai... all reviews sugest that the genesis is more understeer prone, has a not so great gearbox, and doesnt have the best driving position.. but to each their own i guess.

I'm sorry but as much as I love the looks of the thing, I have to waive the "big deal" flag.

It is cheaper to buy a base model and pimp it with better looking wheels, tires, and bits that actually contribute to performance than buy that car. TRD should have waited until they could make a special edition supercharged or turbo car before putting this out.

I think there would have been a LOT of people that would have just lined up saying "TAKE MY MONEY!!" for a TRD 86 that actually performed better than a base model.

Still... it really IS pretty!

I'm willing to bet that if this said "Scion Announces FR-S Release Series 1.0" it would have much better reception.
