I completely agree with the throttle response/engagement. Not that there was a lag before but feels quicker now. What size did you install? I’ve had no issues so far. If this one snaps maybe I’ll go up a size? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

“ Personally i have oversized/underdriven water/alt pulleys so my belt is different size. i use a K061033, and just purchased (haven't installed yet) Gates K061037RPM belt designed specifically for superchargers” I just chose the next size up. Idk if it was just different weather conditions since last time i recorded my boost gauge to play back and see exactly what my boost was. But i was surprised to see almost 1psi more when i recorded today and compared from before |

Opinion question for y'all:
For intercooled systems, I hear that initial intake temperature doesn't matter too much. Rather, it's how efficient the intercooler is. Do you think this is true? If so, would you think a short-ram intake would work best for this setup?

Intercooler prevents or delays heatsoak. So initial intake temps are the same, but after even one pull your IATs will go up and you’ll be down on power, intercooler should delay this allowing for a couple pulls before high IATs drop power. The only real way to fully combat it is intercooler + wmi and or E85. |

What belt (or belt & new idler) would you recommend for the 72.5mm?

Or get Nuline EP121 or Dorman 419-610 Idler Pulley for extra belt wrap, the nuline has lots of reviews/high praise. But dorman was 9$ and has worked flawlessly for me. Both same 76mm diameter but dorman is a bit wider so belt rides perfectly centered with plenty of space on either side don’t have to worry about belt jumping or sliding off. then you'll want to pair either pulley with K061020RPM this would probably be the best combination. RPM belt is much stiffer and the grooves don't have as much space/width so it really bites and grabs hard and right away. Eliminates any belt slip and helps on throttle response. |

The other thing that is interesting to me is that when I bought the kit, from Toyota.. they asked me if my car was auto or manual. I said manual but why would that matter? They responded that auto's tend to throw the belts. But that doesn't make any sense to me. |

Sprintex kit requires a few minor changes for install on autos involving re routing brake booster and relocating TCU, otherwise no different. You bought a sprintex SC kit from Toyota? |

Sure did. I thought it was really strange that they didn't want me to have it if it was auto because it would throw belts. That just makes no sense. I even have the convo check it out:

So this is the idler pulley that came with my kit. It's 70mm with a 33mm width, and metal.
and.. can nobody tell me what this is for?? It was in the kit with the weird note I mentioned before. But isn't mentioned in the instructions. |

That cover looks like a pulley bearing cover used to keep sand/dirt out of the bearings in the pulley, it does not go to the normal sprintex kit, although again may be supplied by Toyota with that new pulley to try to solve some sort of issue. It would typically go just as the picture illustrates in between bolt and pulley. |

The picture shows it’s 33mm wide. This is what came in my kit. That weird cover.. it’s not in the instructions and the slip of paper that came with it doesn’t really match either. Talks about replacing a plastic cover. In anycase I tried fitting it and it fouls on the idler so it’s not right I’ll just leave it off. Yeah Toyota sells this kits here, I live in New Zealand tho.

What RPM is everyone idles at? I'm having my tuner make my idle a bit higher, maybe to 1100. I'm hoping that it wouldn't damage the car doing so. Reason being is that the RPM dips when I brake and having a higher idle fixes my fuel trim issues.
