I'm not sure how it works for Subaru, but on a Toyota, an invoice sales gets you nearly nothing, $100 for a sale isn't that much when most of them take 4 hours+.

I can't believe that they are even doing these things. MSRP I can understand, maybe even $500 more, but $2500, that's just dump. I realize that a Scion's price is non-negotiable, so I wouldn't mark it down either. Do they understand that a Scion is going to be considerably cheaper? Do they realize that no one really wants a factory navigation head unit and speakers? That the interior leather and heated seats can be done aftermarket very easily. The only thing that's cool that I would even want from the factory is push-button start and that you can get aftermarket as well. I'm going to laugh when these are sitting around because of their arrogance.

Subaru pays the salesman a set amount regardless of what they make on the commission of the sale. They also get benefits depending on how you rate them through the PEAK program.

lol @ people taking up issue about 2500 over MSRP, I understand if the dealer tries to sneak it in; that's a whole nother issue but if they want to try sell it for that much more and are upfront about it that's their decision.

I went in to my local dealership to talk to them and he told me flat out that it would be $5000 over MSRP. They're only getting one and were honest about it, took my information to call when they get it in even though I told them that there was no possible way I'd pay that much for the car.

That's exactly what the thread is about. I don't plan on adding any dealers to the list that are being up front with markups. If people pay em, then they pay em.

If they are upfront from the beginning that is their issue. It is about those that go along about selling at MSRP or under and then all of a sudden d-bag and want $2500 over MSRP.

Aw man looks like it was taken down. Hilarious clip from It's always sunny.

But yes back on topic, like you said, if they were up front with their mark up, this thread wouldnt exist.

has anyone tried emailing them this thread?

typically dealerships respond really well to negative customer service emails.
