Gave it a proper cleaning. Ammo Paint Regiment works wonders followed up by some carnauba wax.

Is that something worth reporting? Replacement wheel could be had for cheap..$50 it seems. Airbag is $200: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1420106...&ul_noapp=true
Something is bent too(lower control arm?) but it all seems like a days worth of work and no calls to the insurance.

I wonder if you can just replace an airbag to have the airbag light removed. i always thought once the airbag deploys, all the airbag components in need to be replaced, ex airbag seats, pax seats.

a friend had his BRZ airbag deployed and i tried to install his old BRZ seats and i got an airbag light.

Please let us know when you've figured things out, this would be valuable info Good luck!

You can pull your SRS control module and get it wiped for about$50. Replace the airbag and do that. No more airbag light. Toyota will try to replace about a dozen components costing a few grand. Hey an airbag off the forum or ebay. Just make sure it's OEM, not knockoff(they exist). Wheel and control arm etc are easy to replace. I did this exact thing 2 years ago but a lot harder. If you already called insurance, take the check and fix it yourself. You'll end up with a big pile of money left over

The guys at the dealer said car is automatically totalled/write-off when airbags deploy, and the sales guy told me to call him re: 2017 gt86

I spoke with the insurance adjuster the next day, and she said that once the claim is in, even if i fix it and they pay out 0$, it will be on the record and increase my premiums. so i kind of gave up at that point, and decided to just let them handle it.

Something is bent too(lower control arm?) but it all seems like a days worth of work and no calls to the insurance.

This was my first time when an airbag went off, and i wasn't thinking straight (had ringing/hearing loss in my ears for 3 days, afterwards).
The next day i immediately regretted it, because my insurance premium is going to destroy me now, and i could have just paid a few thousand out of pocket to fix it.
I've had this car for under a year, and have already clayed/waxed it 3 times, rustproofed, etc. so calling insurance was an emotional decision, not a rational one.

Oh well, you live and you learn, i guess...
31,000$...

I gave a wash and used Turtle Wax on it last weekend. It was looking really nice...for about three hours.

There's a metric fuck ton of pollen and cottonwood seed flying around out here like it' nobody's business. Unless a car is garage kept, washing it is a losing battle in my area.

At least I got a couple of pics to see what it looks like in the sparkling sun all cleaned up.

I've been debating about running just the rear plate and keep the front in the trunk and say some bs story that my front end had just gotten worked on and forgot to put it.

I drove around for about 8 months all over Texas without a front plate. And then one day taking the long way home, a random state trooper pulls me over for not having one. Only got a warning at least.
