Others opinions are not more important to me. Im just curious as to what others think on the topic of mt vs auto FRS. People sharing there experience like @shiumai did help me to make my decision on if I want to trade my Auto for a MT

All of the answers I've seen before and here are always the same. I'm not sure if I ever see an OP come back and tell us what they did. It's like a movie with a to be continued ending...
Lol I'll make sure to come back and share my decision

I’ve got an MT and love it. I’ve never owned an AT. That being said, sometimes when I’m in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour, the idea of an automatic sounds pretty good.

It’s not an insignificant financial hit to swamp, and not worth it if you only want to keep the car a short period of time. But if you’re going to keep it for many years, then I’d say go for it. You don’t want to get up every morning getting into the car and thinking you wish you had an MT.

In the end only you can decide what’s best for you.
I didn't even think of that. I'm going to look into renting or at least test driving a MT FRS before making my final decision.

I've driven both MT and AT, you actually can't really go wrong with either. In fact the only correct choice is down to your preferences. The AT is one of the faster ATs as far as manual shifting is concerned. The only minus one might have with it is the gear ratios it comes with as its more fuel economy oriented than the manual. I chose the MT because I really like manual gearboxes.

The ideal scenario would've been to learn driving an MT before buying. If you loved the experience learning then yeah there's no going back to an AT. If you didn't love driving a MT, then you're actually better off with the AT. Its not like the Celica GT-S where you truly were punished for picking the AT.

Keep the AT and swap to 4.88 gears. Recently did this and it is by far the best mod you can do for an AT.

Whoops, you're right. I forgot the 5*-60mph that car and driver also documents.

So yes, from 5mph-60mph , the auto was a tenth faster. I'm sure as speed increases the manual will be ahead due to the better gearing.

Why don't you just by a $2000 manual fun car aka Miata! And learn to drive manual with. Make it a daily and drive it as much as possible. Then if you feel you can live with the manual on a daily basis in heavy traffic, trade the FRS for a mt. If not, then you just saves thousands of dollars.

From a dig yes. From a roll no. Look up car and driver auto brz test.
This is a contrived test that makes no sense at all - the MT still wins if it dumps the clutch. Just because the car is moving at 5mph doesn't mean you still can't push the clutch in, rev, and dump... The 5-60 "test" for the MT is SLOWER than the 0-60 test - the only way to do that is to let out the clutch completely, get the car rolling to 5mph, then to mash on the gas. Nobody would do that if they were trying to go as fast as possible...

It's not possible for the 0-60 to be slower than the 5-60 if they are performed the same way due to inertia.

It doesnt matter if this car fast or not,,it is still a fun car (handling) rather if its MT or AT.
If i want fast then i wont buy this car.

That's not how the 5-60 test works. they do dump the clutch and launch.
