Nothing's bent, I took it to multiple shops when I first heard the noise and today I took apart everything and is still there.

Totally, I was thinking that on my drive home since it felt like I was driving the car for the first time again. There are valid complaints about certain things with the car, but it's just such a joy to drive, and everything performs exactly the way you want it to, that's its hard not to smile when driving it.

And the power is not bad at all, even in 6th gear, giving it gas... it goes. Unlike the two rental cars that I drove where you have to slam your foot to the floor to get the car to do anything.

I could go on, but I think we all know how much we love these cars...

Yeah. I'm wondering that too. I haven't noticed any difference in the way the car is running though. I'll take it to the dealer next week prob.

So I figured out exactly what the clunking noise was it wasn't even related to my coilovers whatsoever it was the stupid catch can banging against the chassis . I guess one of the bolts were super loose everytime I hit a speed bump or any kind of bump for that matter it would give out a clunking sound. Well problem solved now I'm going to toss the shit in the garbage for a given me a headache

Tamiya 1/10 Toyota 86 Body w/ Tamiya 417 Chassis

Inspired by @denkigrve, I decided to paint my Tamiya 86 body so that I may use it on my Tamiya 417 chassis touring car. Let me know what you think and if it's worth it to maybe create a DIY (haha lol) and show this build and run it at NorCal Hobbies t/c track? I painted it with Tamiya paint as close to ultramarine as it can get and used the stock sticker sheet that was supplied with the body. Granted, I don't use stickers for my r/c bodies (typically send it out to be pro-painted) so cutting out these stickers on the lines were a PITA haha lol

Man... I think I'm going to sell my HPI and get a Tamiya. Those mirrors look so legit. I have some wheels that are for the Tamiya set that caused me to lose a drive axle on the E10, so I think it's time to upgrade soon. Your cutting skills are SO MUCH better than mine. I'm a bit jelly.

Also, is the rear bumper part of the shell or a separate piece? The HPI body it's a separate piece. I think I'm seriously going to ditch HPI at this rate. lol

Yeah, this scale is the Japan version haha. Even the door handles are opposite. I'll look for my Tamiya wheels but at the moment, these spec-race tires work well with the chassis' settings and NorCal Hobbies' asphalt.

HPI works well, it's an RTR kit so the cost reflects the kit. There are mods for the HPI but by that time...well, you know what it would have cost. Tamiya has the TT-01 with the FRS body. Curious how the wheels made you lose an axel, different offset??

Cutting is difficult. I used a curved hobbyist scissor, exacto knife, and a straight edge. But for representation purposes only, I used the stock stickers (PITA). Otherwise, I would have sent this out and had it Tamiya-themed painted (non-PITA). It wouldn't have been easy to see it was an FR-S.

Yes, the Tamiya kit's rear is attached vs HPI's rear end is in two pieces. Plus the HPI wouldn't fit the Tamiya chassis.

Once it's ready to run, maybe we can meet up at NorCal Hobbies (if you still have HPI) and let's play on their track.

I got some aluminum wheels, and the screws for the wheels put enough pressure on the ends of the axles to keep them from falling out. The screws didn't go all the way through the wheel and hub due to some trim differences, so my guess is that last bit of pressure holding it in was missing maybe? I'm going to have to figure out how to keep the axle in with those wheels on, or just roll with my work wheels 24/7.
