EcuTek Self Tuning , who's making the switch - POLL INSIDE

Come Friday 12/20/13 everyone's ProECU Kits will be able to edit BRZ roms.

Who's taking the plunge and giving it a shot?

Any of you have questions about the announcement?

I'd love to. But I need to do some serious reading before I dive in. I have no clue what I'm doing but would love to learn.

i'll be jumping in as soon as i finish up getting new wheels and tires installed. i'm in no real rush as the only thing i 'need' is sd to get past my maf barrier, and my brzedit tune runs great now after all that work lol. by the time 15psi get's boring i'll switch to racerom sd and keep going up .

Good news, EcuTek will open RAW ROM Files, so this should be a easy switch for you!

Yes, reading will be a good idea. Have you ever tuned before?

Hell no. I wouldn't dream of throwing it on my car without having someone look at it first. In the end, it'll probably, "Wow, look at all this cool shit I can F!@# up. I better not touch it."

I'd love to do a "hold your hand" approach. I look at the tunes, make changes, submit it to my tuner, have them laugh at my mistakes, question what the hell I'm trying to achieve, sulk for a while. Rinse and repeat.

all the information that you could ever need to learn to develop a safe, reliable, stable tune is available online for free. you just have to look for it, and use it.

I'm going to be offering this service, still working on the details.

I'm sticking with my tuner I originally paid for. I don't know anything about tuning my own car. I'd rather an expert do it and add the racerom features I want.

Not swapping to ECUtek isn't a choice (every choice seems to imply that swapping to ECUtek is going to happen). That being said, this is a step in the right direction for ECUtek, I just can't justify the cost even if I wanted to switch. Maybe someone could actually break down what this offers people over what is currently available at a lower price point (OFT).

Now if we can just get pro tuners to open their tunes to make the information sharing even more efficient everyone can benefit.

What benefits do you see with this type of setup? I suppose one thing would be learning what exactly your tune is doing would be one. It would be nice to know how exactly the car works.

I see this spawning more ecutek tuners. Growing from the ground up. I WILL BE YOUR APPRENTICE! TEACH ME YOUR WAYS lol.

I think it's fair to say that there's more EcuTek Tuned BRZs but several people made a switch so they could have a play themselves, but your right.. I should have a few more options.

As of right now having a EcuTek ProECU Kit and License just allows you to tune your car, normally people purchase a tune from a tuner.

Or are you asking what the benefit of using EcuTek over the other options?
