There is zero indication that the dealer in any way forced this sale. Not one word. The dude was confused about the colour and said "I want that one". Was the dealer in some way supposed to say "Didn't you really mean you want the WRB?". You think they somehow deceived or forced him into buying the wrong colour?

no not really saying they deceived him. I have no idea. but it's possible that the buying process was confusing and the dealer was being pushy to complete the sale. why would the buyer have to sign all the paperwork before taking delivery on the car (or maybe he did take delivery and I missed it)? And did I read that he was buying the car at midnight? I don't know, just sounds pushy to me.

They may have been pushing but that has nothing to do with the guy getting the wrong colour.

Look at the bright side, you only got the wrong color. Both blues have their own charm. I'm a fan of the GBS, but it's a close call for me.

It could be worse, you could have gotten the wrong trim or gearbox. Imagine getting A/T when you want M/T or vice versa. That affects your QoL, the paint does not as much. Hope you can find a way to solve your issue, but realize that you will have a lot of fun driving the car no matter what color it's in.

I went with a safer white FR-S, but the Hot Lava caught my eye and I almost pulled the trigger on it. "I feel like I'll get sick of it after a year or two" won over the "Wow, this color is awesome!". Whenever I see this hot lava FR-S driving in my neighborhood I second guess my choice.

I just went to the "build your own" page for the BRZ, and I don't see the dark blue anymore... If that's truly gone, consider yours special now!

Also, I miss my hot lava FR-S, and that's potentially what I'll buy second-hand again when I get my truck paid off!

Hyper Blue > GBS > WRB

You made a fine decision. 3rd best you could have.

I say 3rd best, because red is the best choice. Especially on the BRZ. More Subarus need to be red.

The dark blue only lasted one model year and was dropped. It is probably one of the most scarce of all the colours.

Lava rules!

I wonder why it was dropped?? As for the Lava, Toyota used the Lava as their marketing colour hence everyone wanted one but WRB was only for rally cars and that makes it the dogz bollx!

I honestly never cared much for the dark blue, first time I saw it in person I thought it looked rather dull (cloudy day) but holy shit did this thread change my mind.
