I may have missed it... what's your plan for a fuel surge setup?

Got busy last weekend. ACT SB8-XTSS clutch and flywheel installed along with IRP Short Shifter. Rear interior stripped. Braum Venom seats and 5 point harnesses installed (not pictured). NA intake, header, catch can pulled off as well as the bumper, crash beam, and oil cooler. Ready for the turbo kit but I still don't have the turbocharger yet.... not sure what the delay is at this point.

Wish there was an internal, fuel-tank fuel-starvation solution (baffled tank) or, otherwise, a nice surge tank. That would be nice.

Has anybody gotten around to putting some hydramat in the tank? or at least a second pump on the passenger side to feed the OEM swirl pot?

Turbo looks awesome! Good call on the ceramic coating. Going to throw a blanket on it too?

Thanks. Probably won't need a blanket since its coated and there will be a hood vent directly above it

+1 on this question, curious to see how you handle this op. Full throttle left handers are the bane of my existence.

Right, forgot about the hood vents. I only asked because the coating helped my header temps, but wasn't as good as a wrap (which I didn't want to do, even if I was OK voiding the JDL warranty)

As a developer, i would trade website building time for car parts from JDL :P They really could get a lot of people in the community to work on their site for nothing more than parts.

Love the turbo, am excited to see it!

Installed the turbo kit along with the fuel injectors, AOS, and my modified oil cooler kit over the weekend!

Still to-do:
Install Walbro 485 fuel pump kit
Install new over/front pipe thats on the way from JDL. My prototype 1-piece didn't fit well.
Add engine oil and prime turbo
Re-install fuel pump fuse and run the car on the HRI Tuning startup/leakdown map and adjust BOV to allow a smooth idle.
Re-install bumper and drill and tap the crash beam to fit the Velox splitter support rods.
Break in clutch.
Load test and log to finish etuning with James.

With the oil cooler fittings on the bottom, will there be any issue with air getting trapped in the system, such as during an oil change when everything is drained out?

This setup looks great. I love the color of the coating. Using OEM ducting for the cooling pack, I assume?

Yes. You'd have to remember to do the "flood clear" on every oil change (good practice anyway) or you'd have two problems. Air in the oil system & a much lower oil level than intended once the air finally purges. There's also potential for air to be trapped if you leave the car sit for an extended period of time (a week or so?) and air = no lube. Dry bearings aren't happy bearings.

I'd recommend changing that setup. I'd also rubber mount the oil cooler, not mount it directly to something that's cantilevered way out there that will vibrate up and down.

I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, just concerned for the well being of OP's car and for his well being too, oiling your own tires from a failed oil cooler is VERY bad.

I could've easily re-used the little mounting feet from Perrin and put the OC on the lower tray in the same spot. I'm told that having the fittings on the bottom actually improves drainage. Also it prevents the OC from getting ripped off along with the tray if I ever have an off that takes my splitter which is mounted to that lower tray. Air in these OC lines after the car rests is inevitable either way I have the core mounted but I don't think it's an issue since the sandwich plate is at the very top of the motor and there is always some air between the oil in the crankcase and the sandwich plate and oil filter normally when the car rests that gets purged out via the PCV once the car is running again and oil flows to bring the pressure up. That's how I understand it, at least. @VeloxEric may be able to elaborate on this since the Full-Race kit and their oil cooler has a similarly mounted core, and he's an engineer with more educated reasoning.
