Cold air from heater
So I just bought this 13’frs. Only quirk I’ve found is that it blows cold air from the floor vents when it’s on floor and it doesn’t matter where the temp is set. It can be set on hot and blow cold air from the floor. It blows hot from dash and defrost though. Anyone had this issue? It has the manual dials for controls and they all function and change like they should. Other than cold air from the floor vents. It’s annoying when it’s 20 degrees outside lol

Your car sounds totaled, you may want to contact your insurance company.

The FR-S is NOT known for keeping feet toasty in cold climates. It's a throwback to an old English sports car tradition (MGs) poor heaters, not to be driven in winter. (I just made that up). There is some insight in this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99916 Summary - it's just the nature of the beast. humfrz |

Mine doesn't have an issue on floor heat. It's certainly not as hot as the face vents, but it's enough to warm my feet/legs. Are you feeling this air with your hands or feet to test?

Read the other thread. At least it’s sorta the same issue. I can put mine on floor and defrost setting. Defrost is hot hot. Floor is ice cold like it’s sucking outside air with no heat. I’m thinking it’s a blend door issue but short of taking the whole heater box out it’s gonna be tough to figure it out. It’s definitely not killing me. Just annoying at best lol. It might be a summertime fix if the dash has to come out

I miss the vents in my ‘75 corolla. You could simultaneously do hot recirc air on your feet and cold outside air on your face. It was way cool.

"Corolla sedan’s fully redesigned air conditioning system is more compact, more efficient and more effective. One example of the smarter climate control is the innovative twin-layer recirculation/fresh air induction unit: In cold climates, it will automatically send dehumidified fresh air to the upper cabin to reduce glass fogging while promoting recirculation of warm cabin air in lower areas." https://toyotanews.pressroom.toyota....edan+world.htm |
