Tire size question

So I have a set of 18x8.5 +32 fronts and 18x9.5 +38 rears.

My question is this setup ok:

225/40/18 F
245/35/18 R

My concern is the 35 sidewall in the rear going to throw anything off? The tires i was looking at does not offer a 245/40 but a 245/35 or 255/35. Or should i maybe just goto a 255/35?

My main concern is the smaller diameter rear. Is it going to throw anything off really? I know a smaller diameter should theoretically be better for performance (speed) but will it be ok for the handling characteristics of the car?

Thanks!

I don't see a problem with running that setup.

Ok awesome, i didnt think so, but i wasent sure with the 35 in the rear and 40 front if it would effect anything negatively.

Well the aspect ratio is dependent on the section width. Think of it like a percentage. So the sidewall height of a 225/40 is 90mm while the sidewall height of a 245/35 is ~86mm. I doubt you'd notice much of a difference.

I can't comment on the rear tire size, but for the front you're gonna get a little stretch (look) with rim width of 8.5. If you want more flush. Consider going to 235, altho it's harder to find.

The rear will be very stretched with a 245 on a 9.5. You could put a 245 on the front with no issues. Common tire pairings with those wheel sizes are 225/255, or 235/265.

Since the rear sidewall is lower, it will still have a similar ratio. Biggest difference will be the amount of stretch

Biggest difference is in the OD.

MPSS tires differences

side wall = 90mm vs 86mm 4mm difference
strethch = 7.9 tread width to 9.0" on 8.5 and 9.5 wheels or 15.2mm vs 12.7mm less than 3mm difference

OD is 637.54mm vs 629.92mm Or 7.62mm difference

long story short they will work and look fine. I run 245/35 all around on 18x8 and 18x9.

Staggered AND stretched... If just for looks and hard parking, fine though it aint my cup of tea (and no one asked so I'll shut up on that front now ). But if it were me and i wanted to drive this thing hard, I'd go wider on both front and back
