Actually, not really as long as the car doesn't get totaled in an accident and doesn't rust to nothing.

At my normal rate of about 20,000 miles a year it would take only 15 years and I'm already in year 6, so 9 more years to go, almost all of it "highway miles" (type of miles matter). Admittedly there is a good possibility I would have to spend some money to get there.

For example, my last daily driver got to 280,000 miles. The vehicle itself (a Chevy Astro) was solid. The engine threw a bearing and would have to have been replaced when I got rid of it. I could have done that, with a transmission, for a few thousand dollars and probably driven it another 100,000 miles. We decided at that point though we wanted a different family vehicle so for just a bit more we bought a used Suburban.

I guess my point is, anything can be done with enough determination and money.

Happy 6th Anniversary!!

Has it really been six years? My how time flies.

121,686 miles (as of last fill-up) and the car is still going strong, no repairs other than the body shop repair after my fender bender. Just routine maintenance.

Still has the original plugs, probably should get that done.
One the second set of tires, but those will most likely need to be replaced soon.

List of "squeaks" that have popped up that could be addressed:
  • Rattle in back deck. Know how to fix, just haven't taken the time.
  • Door handles are fading. They used to be perfect match. They are now dull. Typical red fading issues.
  • Dash pad is pulling up over the middle vents.
  • The plastic vent strip right under the windshield is pulled up on the driver side. Screw probably needs tightening.
  • Serious road rash scrape on the underside of passenger side front bumper cover. No idea how/when that happened.
  • The hood could use a repaint from paint chips. Other paint chips up and down the car in places.

Overall, pretty minor and mostly expected stuff. The paint still looks good when clean (at least from 50 feet) and I still enjoy driving it every day.

If you read the original post here you know I track my mileage pretty closely. Interesting that the MPG continues to trend up even though I have not changed the plugs. I have not changed my driving style, so not sure what accounts for that.

your avg mpg is amazing. It's crazy to see you're DOUBLING my average.

I get around 180 or so before my light comes on :/ I barely even go into boost too.

Well, I'm stock for the most part, and almost all my miles are mixed/highway. That said, I do nothing other than that to get the mileage. I've never had a soccer mom beat me off the line at a stop light, and I never met a 25MPH curve I don't try to double.

My average per tank is 342Miles including the few times I filled up at more than a quarter tank (I almost always am just at or below the "warning level" when I fill up). 412 is the most I have gotten out of a single tank before filling up. There are some many variables in "miles per tank" though that its not really useful.

That seems to be a fairly common problem, at least with the '13s. I remember some discussion of it going back to pretty much the first summer the cars were available. Mine only started about a year ago though.

Oh, and I left out "fogging headlights". My headlights have the first signs of "early onset car cataracts" on the top portion of the lens.

Third Set of Shoes

Well, this past Saturday was new shoes time.

I considered changing out to a different tire than the last ones which were Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus (all season/touring) but given that I got over 69,544 miles out of this set and they still had some tread left, I didn't see much of a reason to change. I'm guessing I could have gotten another 10K miles out of them but didn't want to go into what passes a winter in Atlanta with barely there tires.

Yea, I know these are not "proper" tires for the car, but they meet my needs for 95% of the driving I do, so I'm OK with that.

For more details on the original decision see my post on them here.

The tire install itself was another issue. I documented that in the "Did not crash" thread here and here so won't duplicate that in this thread.

Sounds like it's the perfect tire for you then.

My last daily driver, 2001 Chevy Astro. That's the number of miles it had on it when it self destructed by eating its bearings.
