Garage
Watched it all in slow motion

Sad day in San Francisco.

I park in the same spot on my friends block every week when I'm over his place. For years I've never had anyone even come close to backing up into any of my cars because the spot isn't in the direct line of any ones drive way. Well last night my fortune ran out.

Guy was backing out of his driveway, says he wanted to avoid the on coming traffic instead of waiting for them to pass and sped out in reverse. He didn't look back at all because he turned and smashed right into my car while he was in a hurry.

Sad part is the car that was coming down the street stopped far enough for login to exit out without having to rush, he just didn't want to be patient.

My friends and I were in the garage at the time and saw it all go down. Was the absolute worst.

What's the estimated damage repot folks? Does it look like structural damage? I drove it home fine thankfully, but man my soul is hurting.

Not sure what the estimated damage is. Only your insurance or auto body shop can tell you that. Everyone's prices are different. Were you able to get the guys insurance info?

Wow, people over on imgur are HARSH!

Hard to tell with the pics but it doesn't look like the B-pillar has collapsed. It'll be expensive but I think it's quite doable. Ask the NorCal folks for suggestions on a shop.

Also not gonna guess the cost on that one but it won't be cheap.
Gotta love those obnoxious comments in imgur. They sortta restored faith in me on what gets said on here.

Didn't know IMGUR was full of pretentious pricks... Then again, I'm not surprised.

All these people are behind a computer screen or phone. I'm sure if they were in front of you, they wouldn't say the same things. It's the only place an insecure loser feels tough.

Still makes me think that the world is turning to shit though.

While I agree with a couple of the comments on imgur...specifically about it only being a thing and completely replaceable. At the same time those of us who are members of forums like this one love our cars. It does pain us greatly when our "baby" gets beat up on by some careless and clueless assclown.

Those pics looked pretty brutal, the way the edge of the door was curved out. Hopefully it's an easy fix, but somehow I doubt it will be.

Seriously, pop into the NorCal off topic section. Those guys are all pretty active and some are even nice.

I had similar damage when mine got sideswiped. Need a new door shell and a new rear quarter panel had to be welded on. The estimate was ~$5600. There was no damage underneath the panel on mine, hopefully yours doesn't have any either.
