TPMS and Traction Control

I did a quick search through here but saw mostly questions all dated in May which was before any of us got our FR-S and BRZ

so yeah I looked haha

Has anyone confirmed running the BRZ or FR-S with the tpms on. ie: swapped to tires without sensors. Does all the stability systems work/turn completely off as designed? Or do they stay on due to the vehicle thinking you may have a flat?

Serious question due to I'm about to second set of tires and rims for Autocross and I don't want sensors. And I really don't want that nanny of a trac control system ruining my corner/accel fun.

Sorry if this has been touched on somewhere already.

There's been a few posts that it doesn't affect the ability to turn off the nannies.

Ah, but here's the question... in stock class... is running no TPMS sensors illegal weight reduction? Hrmmmm. I need to look into that.

I doubt its a rule in "stock" class but I don't run stock class for autocross.

And I doubt it has any noticable gain due to weight reduction lol. As it is I run without the center caps on due to quick adjustments of air pressure.

No TPMS and no nannies makes this guy happy.

It was clarified in a Fastrack bulletin earlier this year, I believe. You can legally remove the TPMS sensors or run wheels without TPMS sensors in stock class.

In stock class it doesn't matter if it benefits you or not, someone will protest it :/ But in this case seems like I'm ok.

I can also confirm; all TC / VSC systems can be turned on or off with the TPMS not present. On the wheels we used at the track this weekend, we had no issues using no TPMS. Just another great way they designed the car to be track day friendly.

I'll post a full write up soon.

Did your TPMS light come on? Some dudes are driving for 20+ miles with no light and no sensors.

Some times it was, sometimes it wasn't... Might have to do with the TPMS working within 20ft of the stock wheels and TPMS when the car is turned on. When I was at the hotel, and started her in the morning, I believe it was on.

It's so easy to ignore. I paid very little attention to it the whole time.
