6-speed mannual gearbox info
What kind of gearbox the BRZ/86 would be using for the 6-speed mannual transmission?
I was trying to find it on the spec sheet that were posted earlier but the images wouldn't load for me. |

Aisin AZ6 I think...tiny bit longer 6th gear than the Miata/S2000/whatever for fuel economy. Oh and welcome.

What I'm trying to under is, if it uses a Aisin AZ6 transmission. Does that mean it will feel like an s2000 or a miata's gear box? Also how much power can it handle...

I'd imagine that the maximum torque it can take is probably similar to an S2k, assuming "same gearbox" means what I think it means.

It won't feel like an s2000. No other az6 feels THAT good sadly. Maybe like an rx8, etc.

I've owned a S2000 and it was the best shifting car I have ever owned/driven. But have always heard Miatas had a good shifter too. I guess I know why now. Why do you think the BRZ/FR-S won't feel as good or better than the S2000? Different gearing? Engine type? Just curious. |
