I think would have gotten "crickets" across to us if that was it. OTOH, I don't think my cooling fans have ever run at idle. Are they super-quiet?

Eh, it sounds like any other 4-banger to me at idle, the direct injection however does tick away like a commercial vehicle.
Heavy load low rpm (<1700) on this engine does sound like a tractor no question. |

The cricket sounds are normal according to Subaru(almost thought I had screws loose somewhere, on 800 miles ...phew!! Thank god It's only crickets)

So after searching this forum more, I have decided that this sound/sounds like the crickets and DI sound others explain...
Thanks for your guys input and I am not as worried that the former owner had damaged my FRS engine. |
