2nd this, pads and tires will have much more affect in initial bite and overall stopping power. That being said. These Brembos do feel very pedestrian. No the Brembos do not overpower the Primacy tires, and I can't believe i am saying that. I alluded to this in a earlier post, when showing the wheel swap i did. I changed to even wider stickier rubber, it didnt help with braking at all. The Brembos really do warrant a pad swap if you want more bite. I just gave all the dimensions of the pads and rotors to CSG so they could confirm brake pad fitment for me. I will have new pads coming soon and can report back. But, after several hard brakes. I will say the Brembos, come with a very mundane pad. The primacy's are not the main problem, although i swapped them out after only 150 miles, but I always do this with any car. My guess is a pad swap will do wonders.

Okay so I broke in the brakes a bit more. Hard slams are getting a bit better. But I'm still gonna go for better pads. Maybe race pads lol

Race pads suck for street driving. You need to get them hot to work well and that just doesn't happen during a regular drive.

I'm hearing a slight rattle coming from the engine/transmission area when I'm going between 10-12 mph in 2nd gear, or 3-5mph in first gear. It only happens in those two gears when the clutch is fully engaged and the engine RPM is between 1000 and 1500 rpm, anyone else have something similar? I've got ~800 miles on the car, no hard driving yet. I think it may be normal since some other people were hearing it on older BRZ/FRS but jsut wanna make sure
I'll take a video later tonight |

No race pads, what everyone has said so far is accurate. Just get some good aggressive street/AX pads. You need good cold bite, but any "aggressive street" pad should be a noticeable difference. However, not all pads are made the same. With pads you get what you pay for, so think about your budget. $100 pads will be better than stock, but you will be surprised what $300 pads can do as well. So let budget dictate what street pad you decide on. But do not buy actual race pads. But my Brembos are most certainly bedded with a good layer and i have more aggressive rubber on the car. The initial bite is not impressive, thats pad. I bet the thermal capacity is good because they are bigger, but i havent been to the track yet. But the given pads on the Brembo PP kit are most certainly disappointing to me.

2017 BRZ delivery in Jan?
WR blue PP. I'm in California. Ordered BRZ limited without PP in November because the dealer told me PP wouldn't be available until the end of March. In December he called me that he could contact the representative of Subaru to get a car with PP for me(didn't mention price...). When the car arrived, he told me this was the only one that had PP and WR Blue in five states(don't know which five states they are) and he added one thousand and six hundred bucks to the price we settled down before. Yes, I paid the PP for 1600. Happy to get my blue baby though. I think it looks better than friend's GTR and the key of GTR looks really cheap compared to BRZ's. The car is more comfortable than I thought. Love the Sachs. The riding quality is Kind of like VW Scirocco my family had back in hometown. Last edited by Andyxin; 02-15-2017 at 01:46 AM. |
