Front Oxygen Sensor Scaling - How do we make it read richer values?
Has anyone been able to do this yet? Maybe by logging the O2 sensor in Milliamps then comparing it to a known working AFR gauge like the AEM?
Thanks! |

I believe the standard front O2 sensor is not a wideband sensor so it just does not read rich values correctly outside its designed operating range. What the OFT guys and other's have done is replace the rear 02 sensor with a true wideband 02 sensor, ok as long as cat is removed. |

I was talking about this here:
It looks like there's room to change the scaling and still have good resolution. I just found a thread where they were talking about it, but there was no replies past January. They mention that it is in fact a wideband. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=701628 Last edited by D-VO; 05-07-2014 at 11:44 AM. Reason: edit |

Is your scaling correct ? you have 12.17 in last 2 voltage values mine is 12.17 | -0.47 and 11.31 | -0.76 Arrrh looks like OFT guys rescalled it stock ROM has your scaling OFT ROM has the scaling above in last two values, so only value changed is 11.31 | -0.76 |

Ecutek rescales it, but down to 11.02 AFR as it has been said anything below that it becomes unreliable.

You can plug any numbers into the scaling, but it does not make the sensor accurate at those levels. The stock O2 sensor is not a wide-band sensor. Think of it as somewhere between a narrow band and wide-band.
I don't trust the stock O2 for anything richer than 12.2. Comparing with a true wideband sensor, I've seen discrepancies even at the 12.4 range. When tuning forced induction, I require a wide-band sensor be installed or I use my own if tuning locally, where I need accurate readings richer than 12.2. - Bob |

the stock sensor is a planar-type wide range sensor, not a wideband as others have said. it maintains good accuracy down to ~12-12.5:1, and begins reading leaner than reality below that with the ecutek-provided scaling (which reads down to 11:1). you should definitely use a real wideband whenever possible.
