Official: Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 looks like it came from the future

Quote:
French media has managed to acquire what appear to be official patent designs of the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 due to show up in Geneva early next month.

It might not be as crazy as the Veneno, but Lamborghini’s ultra-exclusive model is still very much a sight to behold and it probably looks utterly impressive in the metal. The company from Sant’Agata Bolognese calls this its “definition of a hyper car” and from what we’re seeing so far it oozes performance. We do notice the very long front and rear overhangs and how the roofline is heavily sloped at the back which kind of reminds us of the Maserati MC12.

Based on the Aventador, the Centenario is Lamborghini’s way of celebrating 100 years since the birth of the company’s founder Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini. As the name of the car implies, it has 770 PS (759 horsepower) coming from the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine linked to an all-wheel drive system and a seven-speed ISR transmission.

In terms of performance, the Centenario LP 770-4 is expected to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) task in as little as 2.7 seconds and reach a maximum velocity of more than 217 mph (349 kph).

Lamborghini has plans to build 20 coupes and 20 roadsters that have already been sold at $2.38M a pop. We don’t know if this price refers to the coupe and/or the roadster. We’ll find out in a little over two weeks from now as the Centenario is set to be unveiled on March 1 in Geneva.

This is the first time I've ever said this about a lambo (never thought I would) but that thing looks hideous

If you drive over an amoeba in this thing, it'll tear the whole front end off. Not only does that much front overhang look ridiculous, but it's completely unpractical, even my supercar standards. I don't care if it has a front lift system; that's just awful.

I wouldn't worry, those are just some drawings. It's obvious that the proportions are off.

Otherwise it just looks like an Aventador with a blacked out roof, BFD.

It's a orthographic view, the proportions always look super scewe compared to in-person. If you look at something like a La-Ferrari or a Ford GT there orthos would look identical to this

that being said, it's a more clean design imho.... WAY better then the Veneno or Egostia

Love the car, but can't afford it, therefore I hate the car.

Someone needs to drag the designers out of the studio, and point to pretty much any normal road "look sir, it isn't flat"

Seriously, how exactly are they going to deliver these things? roll that off of a delivery truck and you'll leave half of it behind. hell any ramp over 4% is going to make the driver feel like an S15 owner at a stance meet trying to get out of the parking lot.

Couldn't agree more. As soon as I looked at the sketch all I could see was a stylized GEN4 Camaro in the front and way too much ass in the back.

@Joakim3 has a good point though. It looks like Foose drawing of a car before he turns it into something driveable. Hopefully the proportions will improve as they move forward.
