So as of right now, I cannot recommend Active Auto Body.
My car is back in their shop having the bumper and quarter panel re sprayed because their color matching was quite off when the car wasn't in direct sunlight. This took a lot of arguing and my insurance estimator had to get involved and was even forced to escalate the issue through management because they did not want to admit to and fix their shoddy paint job.

I'm waiting to get my car back next week to make the final verdict, but as of right now, I cannot recommend them.

Did they fix the paint? Looking to get some paint work and but am hesitant because I doubt the k7x WRB paint can be matched well.

They actually did, but they ended up having to respray the entire rear half of the car. It is a VERY hard paint to match, so while they did a good job, it's not 100% perfect. That being said, it's now 98%+ and much closer than when they first tried (which was maybe 80% at best)

I don't know if I'd recommend them, but after all the hassle it DID turn out decently.

What, does my car have a target painted on it?!

I got hit in the parking lot at that shopping center at Fallen Gateway on the 580. Driving straight down the road, and this girl pulls out into the aisle and hits me behind the passenger door.

I just got hit right before the summer kickoff! Looks like I'll be getting another estimate here pretty soon.

Hanson's in Burlingame is great! Had body work done on a few cars over the years and they all came out as if from the factory.

Check them out, ask for Peter, he's the owner.

Reviving this thread. I'm in north bay and curious if anyone has suggestions for good quality body shop. I have some minor dings and scratches on my bumper and other places I want to get sorted out.

I would rather not travel so far south to the places listed above if I can avoid it.

I've taken my old TSX to Cline collision center in Santa Rosa for front bumper repair.
They are pretty nice and did good job on fixing the car.

bump, rear ended again, any new suggestions?

I'm thinking active auto body even though they're not in network for me, asphalt seems easy to match (my car has been resprayed 3x already, never had a problem with the color, only the cleanliness of the spray with runs and contamination) so hopefully I won't have any issues that @Zoh had.

WTF? You gotta be kidding me. Are you like looking into your rear view mirror to see if the person is texting, and then panic braking as hard as you can so that they hit you?

Do you just have the worst luck ever??

This time was at a red light, it had just turned green and I was waiting to make a left, car behind me was going straight and didn't see me over his big ass hood. Total lack of awareness that the car in front of him hasn't moved forward, had my blinker on and everything, could even see his face in my rearview mirror as we both sat at the light for a minute or two waiting for it to turn green.

It's not like it's dumbass kids, I'm getting hit by baby boomers while I'm just minding my own fucking business. Fingers crossed the next body shop does a better job than the last and fixes their mistakes.

This will be bumper #5

Edit fwiw active auto body won't see the car until after I have a AAA (my insurance provider) estimate in hand which is annoying, but maybe possible. Fingers crossed my battery doesn't go flat on me since I can't close the trunk, unplugged the light so we'll see.

Edit 2 battery holding the next day so that's good, rethinking Active Autobody or Hanson's mentioned above, I'm thinking going with a body shop that's "in network" means a body shop that's forced to pinch pennies and cut corners by the insurance company... there HAS to be a decent shop somewhere fuck this shit is not rocket science.

Sunny Auto in SF took care of me when I had to get my right side redone after being hit. Everything came out very nice!

Hanson’s Auto in Burlingame (around the corner from Elite) took care of my hood when someone backed into Zoe and left a nice dent. Excellent paint matching and they put a lifetime warranty on their work for the life you own the car.
