I'm pretty sure they are not on the stock pads...

I'm inclined to believe that they meant that no additional brake cooling work is necessary that they have seen with their car, ie. brake cooler ducts and BBK. (In regards to that, I agree with wparsons.) The conversation they were responding to was dealing with additional cooling in general for the car. For most people, an oil cooler is really all you need.

But yes, they were pretty vague.

Brakes we use upgraded pads for track duty. The Boosted car in this thread has a AP Sprint kit, and no cooling ducts. Our red N/A car uses a DBA T3 rotor, removed backing plates, and an upgraded pad and works out very well. Again no duct work on that car either. Sorry I didn't answer that before.

Where did they claim that?

I asked a specific question about what they did to manage engine bay temperatures, specifically excluding suspension and brakes, is that what you were referring to?

They didn't say that explicitly, but it was certainly misleading.

I have a feeling that kits will be very hard to come by for the first few batches, and there will be a lot of waiting

Everyone talks about heat issues on these cars. We're just not seeing it, from brakes, to the engine. We have two cars in house and neither car have heat issues on or off the track, even when we are in Cali mid summer.
@CSG Mike

No heat issues on these cars in Cali summer heat?

Ft86speedfactory, this has not been our observation on Cali tracks in summer heat. 300 deg F FI oil temps with no oil cooler, 260 F FI oil temps Perrin Oil Cooler. Coolant temps were unacceptably high in both cases reaching above 230 F. Temps only came back down to acceptable levels after swapping the Perrin core for a much larger core. Heat is a real issue especially if Tracking while FI.

Look at the question I originally asked them, it'll be clearer.

Try to stay on topic guys, this isn't a brake or brake cooling thread. They said they didn't observe overheating issues on the track. Take their word for it and lets all move on.
