Fortune Auto Coilovers ?s

I'm about to pull the tirgger on some fortune auto coilovers with the bearing upgrade and swift spring upgrade as my Eibachs ride too rough for as much driving as i do. I belevie these to be good coilovers for the money but I was wondering if they were comfortable as long as your dont stiffen them up all the way of course. Also, has anyone here ordered them with custom spring rates? Any suggestions are apprecaited. Thank you.

They are one of the better budget coilovers.

Stiffness is going to be dependant on your spring rate.

go like a 6kg rate or something similar if you want something that is going to be more comfortable.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks Mike. I think the standard rates are 6k front and 8k rear.

Standard is 6kh/7kg. I was going to get mine in the standard spring rates.

Been running 500's and the new dreadnought series for quite some time. Plenty of track time and daily driving on the 500's before we turned the silver car into a track car.

Have taken a beating in stride and never had any issues! Couple 4k mile journeys to California and back, as well

How would you say they handle road bumps and general street duty vs. something like KW v3's?

Handles them quite well. You will not be jarred or bounced around with these coils on. Of course, large bumps you want to take your time on or avoid completely, like with any other system.

I will say that the KW v3's are still better at handling bumps for general street duty.

I've been running the 500s for about 32k miles. Quality is great, especially for the price point. I like the fact that their US HQ is right in my backyard.

I have the roller bearing upgrade, but the standard springs (6kg/7kg f/r). They ride nicely. The car isn't oversprung at all, nor is it mushy. Depending on the road/tire combination, rough surfaces aren't terrible at all. I've got mine set to the softest setting IIRC.

I have the 500's w/ Swift and Roller Bearing Upgrades. I love, love this set-up. But I will recommend to stay away from the Roller Bearing as they rust up to fast and become defeated very easily.
Fortune Auto now has a plastic like bearing to replace these. I will be changing to this style of bearing as soon as I can get back down to Richmond to have the FA guys swap em out.

That is true, I get the annoying pop every now and then. I'm planning on getting the swift springs soon, at which point I'll swap out the bearings.

In my previous car, I've gone through four different suspension setups over 100k miles before I found something I liked. The fact that I'm still on setup #1 after 30k+ miles says a lot.

I've had the 500s for almost 10k miles/one year, now. Love it and have no complaints. They've also been through a season of autocross. Started out with the exposed thrust bearings, but they dried out after about 4 months. Re-greased them and then they rusted. I finally switched to the newer sealed design before Thanksgiving and OMG I forgot how nice it was. Much, much better than the exposed thrust bearings.

Hey guys sorry for bringing back a dead thread but I'm having a hell of a time finding data on this.

I was hoping anyone of you could tell me what the height adjustment is on the fortune 500's. How low can you go over stock?

Thanks
