I used the same repin pattern as @solidsnake11, pink from 27 to 9, white from 32 to 8.

Upon startup, no codes but the ABS light was on for about a mile. After that everything appears normal. No hill start, VSC sport mode activates like normal (immediately upon pressing). If this is what track mode feels like it’s a very subtle difference, at least on the street. I couldn’t get crazy on the backroads but the limit feels similar as before. Maybe the difference will show at autocross. Keep in mind I haven’t driven a 2017+ to compare.
You have to activate hill assist.

- Press and hold the "Traction-off" button (leftmost button that looks like car with skidmark and the word "off" at the bottom) for 30 seconds. Both VSC and Traction Control off indicator should illuminate and then turn off.
- Within 5 seconds after the indicator lights turn off, release the "Traction-off" button, then press the switch again within 2 seconds of releasing it.
- The hill start assist ON indicator will illuminate and then turn off.
- Turn the engine off, then restart the engine
and the one part they left out, emergengy brake needs pulled.

Its weird your button works without a delay.

Before the module switch I couldn't illuminate hill assist light with the techstream, after the abs switch techstream will illuminate it.

The hill assist is fantastic with my touchy clutch.
Some people say they stall more with hill assist. The harder you push on the brakes the harder it holds when you take off. If you just apply the minimum force its really smooth, sometimes I don't even notice its working.

I canít remember if my ebrake was pulled when trying to activate it.

My traction control button behaving different is suggesting there is another difference. Maybe itís the cluster? Does the switch wire go directly into the ABS module or does it do through something else?

My car is a 13 BRZ, virtually stock.
Whatís the year of yours? Any other relevant electrical mods besides the cluster?

Both switches go directly to the abs, I think the only wires that come out of the abs is can hi and can low.

oops Mine is a 2018 but it should be the same.

Interesting. Maybe itís a delay in the cluster showing the light? Can you try short pressing the button and see if it comes on after a few secs?

Pressing the sport button does not turn on track mode. I have to hold it down for about 3 seconds. To turn it off I only have to press it and release.

After some careful evaluation in a wet empty private parking lot Iíve come to believe this mod does not change the VSC Logic to the 2017 track mode. The limits feel the same as before. The logic change must be in another module.

Single press of the "Traction-off" button (leftmost button, looks like a car with skidmark and the word "off" at bottom): This is what Toyota/Subaru intended for "rough roads" , or in situations when you're stuck in mud/dirt/snow. This turns off the Traction Control (TC) system so it will not reduce power from engine to wheel, and in turn allow you to rock the vehicle in order to free it.
Indicator light so you know you're in this mode: "TRAC OFF"
TC will be enabled again when:
- Press of the TRAC button again
- regular key-start vehicle -- engine switch is turned to "LOCK" position
- push-button-start vehicle -- push button ignition turned off
- It'll automatically turn on when vehicle speed is more than 50km/h (~31mph)

Holding the TRACK button (rightmost button with the checkered flag) for 1 second or more get you into "TRACK" mode -- This is what Toyota/Subaru intended for "Sport driving" -- TC, VSC and Brake LSD tuned / conducive to spirited driving with good amount of wheel slip but will still steps in eventually if it thinks you've messed up (or in Toyota/Subaru own verbiage -- "to afford maneuverability closer to what a driver may desire, while a sense of security is retained" lol The threshold of this TRACK mode nanny is more lenient than the "VSC Sport" mode in the 1st Gen FRS/BRZ where many complained the nanny is over-protective and intervenes too soon.
Indicator light so you know you're in this mode: "Car with skidmark and word OFF at bottom" and "TRACK"
To turn off this mode, simply press the TRACK mode button (rightmost) or "Traction-off" button (leftmost). This mode will also be turned off when:
- regular key-start vehicle -- engine switch is turned to "LOCK" position
- push-button-start vehicle -- push button ignition turned off
- note track mode will NOT turn off even after reaching 50km/h (~31 mph)
.
Seems something is not right with yours. Im on A0G1 tune and I have the 2017 cluster. What is the part numbers on the abs module.

I'm wondering if the wiring changed on the abs before track mode was available and you got one without track mode with the new wiring. If someone could post a link to 2016 wiring manual I could see if the wiring changed first.

The part number on top of the module is 27536ca040. How much coding was involved with the cluster? That might affect things too. Seller on eBay said itís from a 2017 MT. It must be from a 2017+ because otherwise the repin would have caused the wheel sensor and VSC button to not work.

27536CA020 is this number on it? I think it might be on the aluminum block. I'm kind of leaning towards yours is a 15-16.

Cluster is plug and play only thing it needs is the steering wheel inputs to switch the lcd screens. I bought the kit from geralds projects.

2017 abs module on 16 down

That switch kit is clever, I like it! Is the oil temp gauge functional?

My 2013 unit is 27536CA002, the new unit is 27536CA040. Looking at used units on eBay, that puts it in the 2017 range. 2015-2016 units appear to be in the 27536CA020 range, and I found a 2019 that was 27536CA060

For some reason Subaru parts catalogs donít find these part numbers.

Everything works on the cluster including oil temperature. I think that is the bosch part number.
I think Techstream will show you the software revision.
