Well, however it is, looks promising to what i'd wish to get.
Hopefully someone will follow your footsteps and make DIY guide for less tech savvy ones on retrofitting MY2017's track mode. What needs switched (maybe even with PN), what-how needs repinned, if it will work w/o MY2017 dash, if road-test shows track mode functioning as on other Kouki twins.

Its really simple mod, the hardest part is getting the pink lock pushed back on the connector to unlock the pins. Pin 32 moved to the pin 8 hole.
pin 27 pink wire moved to pin 9 hole . The connector is numbered on the side without the wires.

Remove 4 star bolts to separate electronic black box from the aluminum abs block. Pull electronic black box off replace with new electronic black box. Tighten bolts.

I would say the 13 down cluster will work but I don't think you will have the hill assist light. With old abs and new cluster when I pushed sport mode my cluster said track and the trac vsc lights worked as normal. The hill assist is off by default.

Its a 5 minute job to switch the abs module. Repin will take about 20 minutes the first time.

Just ordered a 17 ABS module off eBay.
Iíll report back with my findings with my stock 13 cluster. I donít care about hill start, but itís a good way of ensuring the module works as intended.

^^ How much was the module roughly?

Following, 2017+ track mode would be a nice upgrade for a relatively easy mod.

Just make sure it matches your transmission.auto vs 6 manual. My sport button has to be held down before track light comes on. This should tell you if its changed. I was calling it trac button before but its the sport button. I was use to the cluster saying track when I pushed it.

Well traction control works. I was in second gear and hit boost, blew the tires off and the ecu cut power.

Neat! How does the cover come off the circuit board side? I tried prying a bit but itís stubborn and I didnít want to break it in case thereís a hidden tab lock.

I cut it off with a razor knife, beside the weld.The cover seems to be welded, melted together.

Which way does the lock slide? Do you push all 4 tabs at the same time? Also my connector has no pin 9, that slot is labeled ĎCLSEí

I just installed the 2017 MT module in my 2013 MT BRZ.
I figured out the lock, it slides to the side where the wiring comes out of the connector, backshell comes off by prying 2 tabs on the backshell itself.
I used the same repin pattern as @solidsnake11, pink from 27 to 9, white from 32 to 8.

Upon startup, no codes but the ABS light was on for about a mile. After that everything appears normal. No hill start, VSC sport mode activates like normal (immediately upon pressing). If this is what track mode feels like it’s a very subtle difference, at least on the street. I couldn’t get crazy on the backroads but the limit feels similar as before. Maybe the difference will show at autocross. Keep in mind I haven’t driven a 2017+ to compare.
