Srt-4 exhaust ftw. Best sounding 4 cyl evar.

*edit*
technically the turbo is a muffler. It does have 2 inline resonators as well.

Some of the older Lotus cars had a very similar sound.

Well, what he was saying is technically the turbo acts as a muffler and quiets down the exhaust. If you took two identical 4 cylinders, one with a turbo and stright piped and the second n/a straight piped, the non turbo would be EXTREMELY loud, while the turbo'd car would be bearable. Probably almost within db limits depending on length of pipe.

Yes, I understand, I have owned and built several turbo cars. My single turbo Supra had no cats, an HKS downpipe, resonator and muffler (Blitz Nur Spec), and was damn near unbearably loud. It was no where close to decibel limits.

Exactly. They were allowed to sell the car without a true muffler because the turbo combined with the cat and two resonators did the job. Although there were plenty of people that got pulled over for the stock exhaust lol.

The size of the motor and amount of boost is also a factor, length of exhaust, size of exhaust, number of resonators/mufflers and or cats, and bends in the exhaust as well.
