+1 wheels, stock suspension?

If anyone is running 18's on the stock suspension, I'd love to see a picture.

I live in a place where lowering the car would rub like nuts, and I'd like to eliminate as much wheel gap as possible without going to super heavy 19's (or super expensive lightweight 19's).

Meaty tires are welcome!

Thanks

Assuming same overall diameter, going with a larger wheel does not mean you will eliminate wheel gap.

Hello red, try looking through the stickied thread named wheel gallery. Good luck.

Additionaly, 18's won't fill up your fender gap if you choose the correct size tires, only lowering it will.

Hitch hikers guide is one of my favorite movies.

If you're keeping stock rolling ration only size of wheel itself changes. Wheel gap only closes with lowering. Or: lowering springs or coilovers.

+1 Size wheels with thicker tires WILL cut down on dead cat gap, though admittedly not as much as lowering.

I've got in mind- 18x8 235/40r18.

I checked out his BRZ. Looks sick- tall tires without going nuts... meaty enough to cushion the ride, not too much as to bog the drivetrain or cause splashiness.

You'll close the gap about 3/8", but also raise the car 3/8". It's up to you which looks worse, the gap, or the ground clearance. That's also a 3.18% change in circumference, so the odo will be off a fair amount.

so..... like this?

18x9 +34 & 18x9.5 +39, 245/35-18 & 255/35-18 Toyo T1 Sport.

Not lowered yet because this was a test fitment.

(honestly the gap is the same/smaller, but looks way worse in person...)

What tires are those? Also, what's the offset of those wheels?

Thanks for the pic!
