2017 stock wheel weight?

Has anyone measured the weight of the wheels or wheel/tire combo?

I'm not sure what the wheel weights, but I just weighed my stock tire with only 2,300 km on it and it seems to weight roughly 20.6 lbs. Although I have no idea how accurate my home scale is, hope that's some help if someone weights the combined wheel and tire.

Any 2017 owners able to weigh a wheel?

You'd only need to weight the wheel/tire package. We can subtract the known weight of the primacy hp tire.

It would help answer the question:
Second-hand 2017 wheel vs. rpf1
that some 2013-2016 owners might have in their head.

While doubtful, if the weight were in the 17 lb. range the 2017 wheel may be a compelling upgrade from the 2013-2016 wheels vs aftermarket options.

In an intelligent measuring system the rims are 9.4 kgs

20.7 lbs? You're saying they are as much as the older style wheel? How did you find this out?

Thanks for the info.

It appears the weight difference is a wash between the wheels. Not really an option if you are concerned with weight reduction, though I do think the 2017 wheels are a little nicer looking.

A Subaru parts dealer told me the STI optional wheels for 2017 (in the U.S.) weigh 23.14 lbs each. Yet the brochure says they are lighter than the stock. What gives?

You are also getting a wider wheel that weighs the same. Not a bad compromise.

This means that the STI wheels, advertised as lighter than the stock ones, are actually more than 2 lbs heavier. If this is true, then Subaru is guilty of fraud in its promotion of the STI wheels. In that case, a class action suit might happen.

Surely the STi wheels don't weigh that much. That wouldn't make much sense. The STi wheels that came with my Series.Blue only weigh 18.4 lb. You're telling me they gained 5 lb (or like 30-ish%) of weight for a 1/2" width increase? Granted they're a different style, but still... that seems excessive.
