Bought my 2016 frs 2nd hand at 7k miles. Chirped when i got it. I used Costco gas and it started to chirp. Switched over to Chevron gas and it does not chirp anymore. Not even the slightest bit.

Bought my FRS with 18,400 miles, third fill up it started chirping. Been driving around like normal now have 19,500 miles. Took car out for Me and the Wife's anniversary and chirped the whole time it idled. Kinda embarrassing. Scheduled with dealer to change pump. Strangely like the post above i have been using chevron gas since and no chirp.

Sam's Club "Murphy Oil" gas does that to mine. The difference in sound is crazy.

Must be exactly it, There is a murphy's close to my house i was using. been using chevron as it was closer to where i was working.

Bought mine new in spring of '15, so just about 2 years now and just have under 21,000 miles and its chirped since day one, it lessens or worsens sometimes and sometimes goes away. It is worse in the summer heat and i would say cause of the summer blend gas. I wish i could find a station close enough to me that sells ethanol free because some guys say that it will not chirp with ethanol free, i'd like to give it a whirl. Honestly now woth 21,000 it isn't quite as pronounced as it was when only a few thousand on the clock. I have a Toyota dealership in my extended family and asked about the so call "latest fix" for the chirps and they told me to not even bother making an appt to get it changed cause it still doesn't fix the chirping, its just something us 86 guys gotta live with, tell u the truth i'm so subdued to it anymore doesn't even bother me.

It should. That's why I thought it was my tires at first. But it only starts up under throttle. It sounds like a swarm of horny crickets. Tried to get video but my dash cam doesn't record the noise. :Iono:

~2500 miles on the new pump. No chirping with 93 QT gas.

Normally it chirps like mad once warmed up. Happy camper here

I hope u never get them, but if u do you'll get used to them, especially if u get a louder exhaust that cancels it out.

Any updates on the chirping status? It's gotten warmer in my area and the chirping is back. If the fix still works in the warmer climate, I'll probably be swinging by the dealership to get this done. If not, I'm not gonna waste my time.

At about 25k miles, my 2016 chirps like crazy compared to when I bought it.

But it honestly doesn't bother me much. Just sounds like a car running.
