Does the over pipe delete a cat or something then? There's just one on the front pipe, correct?

No, the overpipe does not delete a cat. It is just another piece that is a bottleneck to the rest of the exhaust system once you upgrade to larger piping.

There is a Cat on the header where your O2 readings come from and there is a cat on the frontpipe. You can retain that second cat on the frontpipe, by purchasing the catted frontpipe being offered by Invidia here.

On a side note, Jeremy is off to the dyno to get some numbers on the N1 cat-back we currently have installed and runs with the frontpipe as well!!! Should have results and video clips up tonight

Great news! Are the tests with/ without the catted front pipe? Perhaps both?

Edit: testing with "catless" front pipe. I'm asking because i am interested in the catback + catless setup. Hoping for an over pipe + header in the future.

That is the only difference.

Understand the the cat will restrict flow and muffle the exhaust tone a bit, so I guess there is that difference too. Which is usually a given.

Isn't it illegal to not have a cat though?

Well I have some good news and bad news. Got the car strapped down and we had issues with the sensor that reads the RPM. Determined bad cable and we're waiting for another one to be shipped out now.

Good news is I put the catless one on our silver car and I must say boy does it wake the car up. The +4K rpm range goes much more quickly now and the car feels more alive. I personally love it.

I have photos of both units installed. Will edit those up shortly.
