Exhaust... lightweight and not stupid loud...
Likely been asked a ton of times...
Aiming to go from header back (EL with cat) looking for the lightest i can get, don't care single exit is fine, that won't be stupid loud as some tracks in the area have db limits... Plan to use car for autox and time attack duty as finances permit... At the same time, while i don't mind spending 1-2k on the header, I don't wish to spend another 2k+ on the rest made of Ti...

CSG Touring86 exhaust. It'll handle all of your flow requirements while acting as a mild diffuser, mature exhaust note (won't bother neighbors, makes cold start very tame), and won't break the bank.
It's one of your best options for track db limits while maintaining flow. |

I have a Blitz Nür Spec R stainless steel exhaust that I think may fit your requirements - it’s reasonably quiet, sounds great with my ACE 4-2-1 Type-A 350 equal length header, and is a lighter than most exhausts. Overall, it’s exceeded my expectations and I’m a pretty tough customer. Check out post numbers 8 and 9 in the following thread to read a little more about it and to see photos on and off my car:

Sure, but there are lighter options that are reasonably priced and still keep the DB levels reasonable. Lighter does not neccesarilly mean loud or exotic materials.

I recommended CSG touring as well. I’ve heard it in person and it sounded so subdue at idle with slight hinting of deep tone. I would’ve gotten that if I hadn’t installed the greddy sp supreme already.

Far as I can tell, <30 lbs for a catback and a catless header is a recipe for blowing sound at most venues. |

You need 2, or possibly if 1 it has to be in the header. Catless header with catted front pipe is still loud AF |

Great - it’s a really good piece and worthy of consideration. One thing that should be noted (but is probably not a big deal for you as an autocrosser) is that without a diffuser to cover up the vacancy from removing the factory exhaust, aerodynamics at the rear are somewhat adversely affected. It’s not huge, but it is noticeable. In my opinion, particularly on a track car that sees high speed, that’s an area where the @CounterSpace Garage Spec MXP Touring86 has a real advantage over the Blitz Nür Spec R.

I'm all ears if there's another option that will pass a 90/96 dB test catless, other than the Laguna 90. The Touring86 is already proven to support a 500hp level of flow. It's certainly not the lightest, but there's no way to reduce noise without weight. It's kind of like having to add weight to add more braking thermal capacity. |
