If you haven't had a chance to sit in and/or drive a 4 series BMW, especially the sport, I'd recommend you do. They are amazing cars inside and out, honestly one of the best "big" coupes I've seen in a long time.

Update

I finally got my 72.5mm Raceseng pulley in. It looks top notch quality and you can see the design and craftsmanship even on such a simple part.

I picked up some extra coolant from the local Subaru dealership today. I'm all set for the install this weekend. I'm hopping to get started taking things off on Friday after work and resume Saturday morning. I'll have a punch of pics of the install and some impressions this weekend. I'm hoping everything on the tune is working well and I can get it up to Pure Automotive for some dyno runs.

Update:
I installed the Mishimoto radiator today. It was a pain in the rear. Pretty straight forward but a lot of stuff has to come off, you'll spill some coolant, and a few tight spots with my FA20Club header. Also two things I didn't understand is the OEM clamps won't go over the silicon hose kit, so I had to use some very oversized clamps I had laying around (not sure why they didn't supply any). Additionally the hoses seem a bit large so they aren't snug, you have to really clamp them down hard and they seem to want to kind in certain areas (also strange since it's for this car). The system seems to be working fine. I started it up for about 5 minutes and couldn't spot any leaks. I used the bleed screw to get the air out of the system. I'm doing the intercooler install tomorrow so I didn't get to take it for a road test but will update with some impressions later. The one nice thing is the OEM shroud goes back on and fits good.

The salt really strips the black off the Perrin oil cooler, I'll have to re-coat it down the road:

Mishimoto vs OEM (said to have 30% capacity over OEM)

Getting things ready for the intercooler install:

Given the multi-day install, I've learned to mark and bag things (or I lose them):

To be continued...tomorrow:

Definitely interested in seeing your dyno results with the intercooler. I'm currently leaning towards getting the Innovate and the one question I'm interested in answering is whether or not to buy the intercooler. Thanks for documenting all of this.

Update

Installed the intercooler today. It was a pain but had some help from a buddy which allowed me to keep my sanity. A lot of really tight bolts to get to. I ended up getting very sick so I had to abandon the car. The car runs fine, no leaks found but I didn't get my suspension but back together. When I took my strut tower off the car was in the air so the coilovers fell down and I need to seed them back up.

Got some oil build up in the elbow:

Core in the manifold:

I added some teflon tape to the fittings, they still aren't super tight but no leaks that I could feel:

Front mount installed:

Pulley's side by side:

I'll get some final pics tomorrow when I get things finished up. I plan to grab some logs and will share some driving impressions.

All finished up! Took the car for a spin to grab some logs. It feels noticeably quicker especially in the 3-4k range and up top too. I'd say maybe 15-20hp worth from the feel of it. I plan to get a dyno soon. I noticed a little bit of coolant by the reservoir bottle. Looks like I'll need to check the clamp Innovate supplied. I don't think their QA is the best. I should also mention the sound is a little different. I can't really explain it, sounds like a deeper throttle box sound, like the induction has a huge box on it meshed with the twin screw/pulley sound. Pretty neat.

I bought a flow-master cat-back to complete my exhaust set up. I hope it works out. I don't want anything loud (don't like the attention) but want to let things flow. I plan to install and then get up to the dyno (hopefully late this week).

For those interested in the boost plot, this is on e85 with the 72.5mm pulley (intercooled)

My cat-back arrives Friday. So I plan to install Saturday. The shop I'm going to for the Dyno won't be open until Monday. Looks like some snow is in the forecast for Monday but I'll be getting up there as soon as I can next week. I'm hoping for 270whp (I got e85 in the tank).

Hey man - how many miles do you have so far on your innovate kit? Any issues or problems? What was your total cost just for the kit and necessary FI supporting mods?

I've had it on about 7k miles I think. The cost would be the same as buying their stage 2 kit w/ tune. I did it in piece parts so my cost was a bit higher. You technically don't need any supporting mods, but of course there's power to be gained by switching pulleys and exhaust parts. I also prefer all around performance so my suspension and brakes were upgraded well before.

Just a few pics of the new parts:

You can see the radiator threw the fan shroud:

Intercooler (ignore the oil cooler lines, those will get rerouted when I connect it back up)

Looks like my peak boost is reading at 11psi:

One issue I haven't seen mentioned...

How much of a drop in gas mileage have you seen? I know E85 doesn't help - I'll be staying 92-93 octane - but if you could give me an idea of how much difference there is from stock to supercharged, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Update:

I got my Flowmaster cat-back in today. Unfortunately my front-pipe is warped and not sealing with the donut gasket. I'm working to getting it replaced, so unfortunately I have an exhaust leak. It's hard to understand the noise yet, but hopefully will get it sorted out soon.

Pros: Price and good quality piping
Cons: It's very much a "kit" with a ton of slip clamps (economies of scale) and the muffler is HEAVY! Feels very universal but overall a nice system for the price.

OEM cat-back coming off:

Just a shot of the engine bay:
