It wont be an issue locally but I can make modifications to rectify the 1.75mm difference. These are a place holder until RPF1s are out in 17x7 5x100, that's why I just bought cheapos for now

Saw you responded to the other post. Yeah it's usually not too hard to shave 2mm off the mounting surface if need be. |

I like running the 215s so bigger isnt the issue. I was planning for RTR-CS until this treadwear issue just changed for 2013. But by then, the R-S3 will have changed specs.
I like the stiffness of having the square tire/wheel vs oversized.

I even offered a possible reason why they could've cracked! Maybe they've gotten better over the years. I don't know.

I bought a set of Konig Subzero wheels and drove them daily (except for winter months) for the past 11 years and they seem to be holding up fine. The wheels are either 15x6.5 or 15x7, I believe around 12lbs each, wrapped in 205/50-15 Falken Azenis RT615 rubber, mounted currently on my third Neon that have used these same wheels.
For the BRZ, I'm considering these Konig Daylite 17x7 wheels for summer, and maybe Konig Helium 16x7s for winter. Last edited by WRB-DZA-BRZ; 08-31-2012 at 07:44 PM. Reason: Typo |

I PM'ed Kido a while back to ask some questions about these wheels. He had experienced some bends with his, but was still able to have them balanced without any issues. So, somewhat against his recommendation I ended up buying them anyways.
I went with these wheels because they are light and cheap. I really wanted RPF1's, but I probably would have bought a wider wheel and tire than my car needs right now. So I am going to hold out on quality wheels and wide sticky tires for when I have a lot more power than stock. I think stock size wheel/tire will suit me just fine until my warranty is up and I install a supercharger. I was deciding between Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 and Cooper Zeon RS3-S, both in the stock size. The Hankook's were probably $20 cheaper overall, but some reviews said their sidewalls were soft, and that's not something I wanted for an aggressive fun summer tire. The Cooper's had solid reviews, specifically this one on our cars (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...re-review.html) which assured me they were fun, stiff, responsive and would maintain the playfullness of the car. I also have used Cooper tires on my truck in the past and loved them (Cooper Discoverer AT/3's), so I wanted to give these a chance. Plus some Cooper tires are made in the USA, I was happy to find out that my Zeon RS3-S's are one of them! I hope to have the wheels on my car before the end of the week. I will post in this thread when I do. Here are some pictures of the wheels for now. They have a darker powder coated gold paint than the pictures show, definitely darker than the stock photos you see online. The stock photos almost make them look like they are a matte light gold ano, they are gloss. There is no KONIG name on the rim, just the center cap and "RACING DESIGN" on the outter edge. I originally had planned on running the wheels without the center caps to get rid of the chrome on gold (thats why i ordered black lug nuts), but since they used a chrome valve stem anyways, I think I am going to just leave the cap in. Let me know what you think, these will be going on a dark gray metallic BRZ. EDIT: I just threw this tire/wheel setup on my bathroom scale and it said 38.6 lbs. The scale definitely reads heavy, since I tried 2 x 8 lbs weights and it read 16.6 lbs. Either way, this setup appears to be at least 3-4 lbs lighter than stock, maybe a little more. I finally installed my wheels this weekend. I was able to remove the chrome sleeves from the valve stem and used a standard black plastic cap. I spray painted the center caps black and had bought black lug nuts. I think the wheels look much better without the chrome.
I am very happy with them so far. I'm not going to argue that this is the best looking set of wheels for my car, but I don't mind them, they were cheap, and there is a noticeable difference in acceleration and handling. Pictures.... Install in the shade. Back from a test drive (brand new tires are drifty...). Spray painted black center caps installed. |

Konig Daylite Gold 17x7 +40 14.2lbs
Konig Daylite Gold 17x7 +40 14.2lbs (Stock Michelins) I saw someone else on the forum put these on WRB. Figured they would look good on black Just slapped them on today, will get some better pictures tomorrow. Can instantly tell the wheels are lighter, good stuff! I had my TPMS transferred to these, and will be using the stockers for winter tires. They were $117 a corner shipped.. hard to beat that. Car is stock height.
