Buzzer removal

I am really annoyed by the seat belt and light buzzers,
besides law and safety consideration , I would like to find a way to silence it.
Is it possible?

Personally I always use the seat belt, I do not need the buzzer to remind it, if I do have to park the car or to carry a passenger that do not want to use a seat belt I do not need the buzzer to bother me.
And it really bothers me, like I would like to rip the chip out and hammer it silence!

This may be possible with Techstream. You can buy the knockoff cables on ebay for cheap and they include the software as well. Example seen here:

Have you tried disabling it the Subaru way?

1. Turn car to on (or acc might work).
2. Buckle/unbuckle the seat belt 20 times (something like that) within 30 seconds.
3. Enjoy your silence and drive at ridiculous speeds without your seat belt.

I just wanted to post that my directions worked on my BRZ. Give it a whirl.

Edit: Update - it works for a while, but then it will chime again. I drove about 500 ft without my seat belt on and had no chime, then, suddenly, chime.

I'd really like to disable the "key in ignition" buzzer.

Has anyone done that?

Techstream and my cheap ebay cable worked great to get rid of all the buzzers in mine. Course it's a BRZ Limited so I don't have the key in ignition buzzer. Not sure if I saw that in the options either.

It wasn't that your method worked for awhile, it's that the buzzer doesn't sound until you drive a certain distance, and it will also eventually silence on its own after a short period of time.

Ive got no seatbelts in my car or airbags so i had my local dealer remove the chime for me, they hooked up a tablet to my car and took it off.

I would give a little more thought to this. If you were involved in a horrendous accident the last thing you would need is a 180 lb. passengers body flying around in the cabin hitting your head and breaking your neck. I think it's o.k. if someone doesn't care to be safe but if their actions endanger me it's not o.k. If you ride in my car your seat belt is on or you don't ride in my car.

That's basically what I was thinking. I don't see any reason for not wearing a seat belt while driving around. And seriously you can't park with a seat belt on ...?

If you really need to, I'd look at the seat belt connector, its usually a ground loop that makes contact when you insert the belt. Chances are you can just rewire that to make it always think the belt is connected.
