You're asking for enough materials to write a Master's thesis on.

I'd start with the old Skip Barber film.

Just looking for good information, one piece at a time. I've gotten completely hooked on driving and want to better myself. If I can read or watch something that will shave a tenth of a second off somewhere, its a win for me. I am new to autocross so I still have a lot of improvements to make. Plus, I just enjoy cars and read/watch car related things on a daily basis.

This one is my favorite:
http://autocrosstalk.com/2016/09/22/...-this-podcast/

Carroll Smith books are highly reccommended

And when it comes to autocross car setup/tuning:
http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets2.html

My #1 advice: screw the books
Go on ride alongs, convince/make friends with someone fast and have them drive your car with you in the passenger seat, (imho it's worth giving up a run here and there to do this early on) have a video camera running and compare side by side that driver's run with yours, camera in the exact same spot. No book will turn the light on as quickly as sitting shotgun in your own car and being in awe when you realize "I can go flat out THERE?!?!?" or "HE DIDN'T EVEN BRAKE UNTIL THEN?!?!?" or maybe the opposite "He braked so early and smooth and it was HOW much faster?!?!?!?" and then watching the video and seeing where you lose a ton of time is valuable too, something you think you did well or poorly at may be totally different than you thought once you look at the hard evidence. Racerender is free and pretty quick to match up videos, I put 'em on Youtube and go frame by frame to compare runs and drivers.

Autocross is hard, flying through a course at 10/10ths the first time you see it is not a natural skill and it takes a lot of practice to be good. Keep the car in street class, buy good tires once your DD tires are shot and get maximum seat time.

I'm a member with GCAC located in SW Florida. Our next event is November 4th and 5th and we offer a half-day novice school on Saturday at no extra charge. (You can run the test and tune course for the second half of the day too.)

It's more than you need if you want to try to set a lap record. If you want to just drive, it's perfect.

How functional is the SARD rear wing? I have thought a bit about aero but my car is my DD and I like the idea of being able to install easily and take off without much work.

Now I don't have a ton of track experience and may not even run aero at all but I can get one for a deal possibly so just weighing options of keeping it in the garage for a while if it might be worth it.

This would be for non-competitive HPDE. Mods are AST 4150 with 6k/6k and 235 or 245 RS4 or similar tires, some Whiteline bushings, full camber adjustment front and rear, and would likely be paired with a mild front splitter for balance.

TIA

Noticeable if you know what you're looking for. Would recommend a larger wing though, unless you specifically want that size.

I'm guessing the same answer would apply to the Voltex Type 12, and the upcoming swan neck type 12?

Correct.

Unless you know you want the 12, I'd recommend a more common 2 or 7.

PM me to pre-order any Voltex!
